Jeska unfolded the newspaper, not speaking, but rapidly reading through the articles that condemned the Royal Court's call for unity.
In front of him was a hot cup of coffee, emitting wisps of white steam.
The morning light was faint, and through the damp steam, he looked across the table where two people were sitting.
One of them, Northern Battle Army Commander André, picked up a bubbling coffee pot and poured a cup for Southern Battle Army Commander Dass: "Has your unit's epidemic improved?"
Dass thanked him, accepted the cup, but held it without drinking: "If you say improved, it hasn't fully recovered. If you say not improved, it won't affect the upcoming operations."
"Now the General Staff Office is asking us to hand over the defenses in the Narran area to the Narran Battle Army, what do you two think..." André tentatively asked.
Jeska, with his seniority, would not resist the opinion of the General Staff Office: "Since His Majesty ordered it, there must be a reason."
