"Super Saiyan?" Cabba asked in disbelief, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Like this!" Caulifla grinned.
With a loud shout, Caulifla exploded into her Super Saiyan form. A fierce golden aura surged around her, violently whipping the surrounding air. Her hair flared upward and glowed gold, while her teal eyes locked onto Cabba. Though she had unlocked the form, her lack of control caused her energy to leak wildly, shaking the ground beneath them.
"So strong…" Cabba muttered in shock. He could feel the enormous difference her battle power had surged, easily dwarfing his own.
"Haha! Cabba, let me teach you what real power feels like!" Caulifla laughed, fists raised. Though Cabba was a little older, they had always been competitive, with their battles typically ending in draws.
But not anymore. Even Cabba could sense he wasn't a match for her current power level.
"I'll pass," Cabba said with a nervous smile. He wasn't dumb Caulifla's power now dwarfed his. Walking into a spar would mean getting pummeled.
"Sis…" Kale sighed with a sweat drop forming. She was used to Caulifla's aggressive personality, but even she found this a bit much.
"Tch, fine! I'll let you off easy this time," Caulifla said, cracking her knuckles and grinning.
"Anyway Cabba, meet my friends. This is Li Yi, the one I told you about. That's Bulla and this is my uncle, Li Xu. He's insanely strong!" Caulifla proudly introduced each one.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Cabba," he said, bowing politely in his Saiyan armor, the same kind worn by members of the Sadala Defense Forces.
"Hi there!" Li Yi and Bulla said in unison. Li Xu just smiled, hands behind his back, observing quietly. His divine ki radiated subtly it was clear to Cabba that this man was no ordinary fighter.
"Caulifla… do you think you could teach me to go Super Saiyan too?" Cabba asked, hope sparking in his eyes. His dream was to one day serve in the Sadala Royal Guard, and this transformation could help him get there.
"Sure! It's easy. Just concentrate all your energy into your upper back," Caulifla said nonchalantly. She remembered the trick Li Xu taught her it had helped her trigger the transformation instantly.
"Upper back?" Cabba repeated, then closed his eyes and began channeling his ki.
Whoosh!
A golden light began to flicker around him, then burst outward.
"Haaa!!" Cabba roared. His hair shot upward and turned golden, his aura blazing around him.
"I… I did it! This is amazing!" Cabba's power had multiplied more than fifty-fold, the typical boost from Super Saiyan. He was now one of the strongest base-form Saiyans in Universe 6—surpassed only by Caulifla and perhaps Kale when enraged.
"Kael, you should give it a try too!" Caulifla turned to her shy companion, her voice encouraging.
"Kale can't do it," Li Xu interjected calmly.
"Huh? Uncle, Gabe just transformed, and Kale's stronger than me in base form! Why can't she do it?" Caulifla asked, confused.
Li Xu gave a soft sigh. "Kale's power is tied to her emotions. Unlike you, she doesn't release rage easily unless she loses control. If she tries to transform forcefully now, she might awaken the Legendary Super Saiyan form unstable and extremely dangerous."
Caulifla frowned. She remembered the times Kale had lost it her energy became wild, her eyes blank, and even she had trouble stopping her.
"So... she needs a different method?" Caulifla asked.
Li Xu nodded. "Her path isn't through typical anger it's through protecting someone she cares about. When that moment comes, she'll surpass even you."
Caulifla turned to Kale, who looked down, uncertain but hopeful.
"I'll help you get there, sis," Caulifla said, gently bumping her fist to Kale's shoulder.
"She's the Legendary Super Saiyan. If she can't control her ki, once she transforms, she'll enter a berserker state and lose her mind," Li Xu explained calmly, his tone carrying both experience and warning.
"Legendary Super Saiyan?" Caulifla raised a brow, visibly puzzled.
"To put it simply," Li Xu continued, "Kale's ki is extremely wild far more unstable than that of a regular Saiyan. Once transformed, she enters an uncontrollable rampage. But in exchange, her power increases far beyond that of an average Super Saiyan."
"Whoa! So Kale's that strong?" Caulifla said, her eyes wide with admiration.
"S-Sis…" Kale murmured, blushing slightly.
"Kale, don't worry," Caulifla said, patting her shoulder. "You'll definitely control that power one day. When you do, you'll be strong enough to wipe the floor with Li Yi!"
"Yeah…" Kale nodded timidly, her confidence beginning to bud.
"Hey! What's with that?" Li Yi said, frowning. "Even if she's a Legendary Super Saiyan, that doesn't mean she can beat me."
He had the right to say so. Born with a base power level of 100,000, Li Yi's natural potential was immense. His training under Whis, along with the Spirit Tree Fruit he'd consumed earlier, meant that his growth speed rivaled even that of a Legendary Super Saiyan without the mental instability.
"Li Yi, just you wait! Kale will take you down one day," Caulifla declared proudly.
"Hmph!" Li Yi grunted, folding his arms in defiance.
"Caulifla," Li Xu suddenly said with a knowing smile, "how about I teach you a technique that might just give you a real shot at fighting Li Yi?"
"Uncle is it super powerful?" Caulifla asked eagerly, her eyes sparkling.
"A very powerful move," Li Xu nodded.
"Teach me now!" she urged.
Li Xu extended his right hand, placing two glowing fingers on Caulifla and Kale's foreheads. In an instant, he transmitted the knowledge of the Fusion Dance directly into their minds a technique originally developed by the Metamorans and famously used by Goku and Vegeta in extreme battles.
A moment later, both Caulifla and Kale opened their eyes wide.
"Uncle… this technique is insane! But… it looks kinda lame," Caulifla frowned.
"Blame the ones who invented it," Li Xu shrugged. "Even I've only used it once."
"Tch, it might look goofy, but if it lets us beat Li Yi, I'll take it!" Caulifla said with a smirk.
"Che… Even with fusion, you still won't beat me," Li Yi said with false bravado. He knew how powerful fusion was he had seen Gogeta's strength but he refused to admit defeat without a fight.
"Let's do it, Kale!" Caulifla turned to her partner, practically bouncing with excitement.
"S-Sis…" Kale hesitated, clearly nervous.
"Kale, if we fuse, we might even be able to take down Uncle! Just imagine how powerful we'd be!" Caulifla said, her eyes shining at the thought.
"O-Okay…" Kale nodded, feeling her sister's excitement rub off on her.
"Come on, Kale! We got this!" Caulifla cheered, her energy flaring.
The two stepped apart, aligning themselves.
"First, match our ki levels!" Caulifla reminded. Kale's base power was higher around 10 million so she carefully suppressed her energy to match Caulifla's.
Once their ki was in sync, they began the fusion dance, mimicking the synchronized steps. As they neared one another, they leaned in, arms outstretched, fingers pointed precisely.
"Fusion—HA!"
A bright flash of light engulfed them. For a moment, no one could see what had emerged.
When the light faded…
"Huh?" Bulla blinked and then burst into laughter. "Pfft hahaha!"
Standing before them was a short, stocky, round figure with stubby limbs, mismatched armor, and an awkward smile. The failed fusion looked completely ridiculous.
"Wh-What happened?!" Caulifla and Kale's voices said in unison from within the fused body.
"You angled your fingers wrong at the end," Li Xu said, shaking his head. "Fusion has to be perfectly symmetrical."
"Uncle! How do we undo this?!" the fused mess cried out.
"You just have to wait it out. It'll wear off in thirty minutes," Li Xu chuckled. He resisted the urge to take photos barely.
Half an hour later, the two separated again, panting slightly but determined.
"Alright, Kale! This time we're getting it right!" Caulifla declared, still fired up.
"Yeah!" Kale replied with new resolve.
Once again, they moved into position, synchronized their ki, and executed the fusion dance with perfect precision.
"Fusion—HA!"
Another flash of light erupted.
When the brilliance faded, a new warrior stood tall lean, powerful, with long golden hair that flowed past her back, wearing Metamoran-style fusion attire. Her energy was overwhelming, far beyond what either Caulifla or Kale had shown individually.
"Success!" Li Yi said, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
"Haha! I'm not Caulifla or Kale anymore! I'm the ultimate fusion warrior Kariel!" she said, placing her fists on her hips with a confident, cocky grin that mirrored both Caulifla's bravado and Kale's quiet fire.
