Everything seemed to fall in place around the three of them as they gathered back together. Now they had gone farther across the lake to the next area.
It was a palate of sand covered area, but this wasn't that surprising at all after all what lied beyond it was an area of water again but this time the water covered the side of the world.
This was straight up defying the laws of physics just like the outside world it seemed the physics had no place in here as the water was everywhere around them all at once. In going deeper inside of the area as they all mentally prepared just knowing this could be complete bullshit.
"Just what the actual fuck is this. "Said Lucas as he spoke his voice trembled.
Depp within the water you could see the corpses of those trapped inside of their it was obvious that most would not make it to the opposite side where land could be seen in the vague distance. They realized they would have to potentially swim through this catastrophic type of event. How could they even describe it.
Red strong thick water encompassing to the side and below them as the corpses of several people before them lied deep inside the water. As they slowly landed their body in the water it felt as if they were swimming through mud entirely. This was a new experience something they would not forget.
Looking around and seeing the faces of corpses from all different periods of time it seemed as some were just skeletons and others still had muscle and nerve tissue attached to them. The worst part was the smell of it all. It didn't even smell bad or putrid it smelled straight up like death like something had completely died inside of the water and each step as it got farther up their body the smell felt stronger, and the unsettling feelings creeped up.
"We have to keep going we can't stop now at all we must keep pushing" said Shinya this time the one in the front of the others with Irene in the middle and Lucas at the back.
'Forget about your senses entirely Irene and just focus on swimming through the water." Said Lucas in a serious tone.
This was different then the water before by the waterfall that water while red felt elegant and complete it felt like beauty. This felt like the complete opposite it felt like death itself was trapped underneath the sea.
Continuing to push on they reached the chokehold of the situation.
With the water all around them and all of them filled to head level with the water. The water itself feeling like mud mixed with blue a concoction clearly meant to keep them trapped in they're forever, yet they refused to let that happen to them entirely.
They would have to go underneath the water to keep going to push on they must see under the world and perhaps the secrets that the water hides entirely.
All three of them at once taking one last breathe above the water sucking in as much air as possible quickly lowered their head underneath the water.
What they saw was the same as up above just deeper the bright red echoed deep within the sea's walls. All three of them could see traces of creatures circling around them just further intensifying the fact that they must escape and keep on going towards the castle and get out of here.
Using the little strength that all three of them had left they rushed as fast as they could to the other side to get above water with Shinya being the first to get past the wall made from water.
Though the other two were not so lucky as a result as Irene's leg got caught on some strong plants or seaweed deep under the water. Lucas saw her at the last second in the corner of his eyes.
With as much haste as possible he gathered all his strength and ran down towards her grabbing his gun and quickly jolting a laser towards the seaweed ultimately causing Irene's leg to be bleeding from the side but that was not of importance right now. They had both got to get out before the creatures get any closer.
Both rushed as their oxygen was slowly running out though that didn't matter to them they had to keep pushing to keep going to live on!
They both with one final push holding onto each other raised out of the water right behind Shinya both gathering big gulps of air.
"Oh, there you guys are hurry we got to get to the shore before the water creatures are after us!" Yelled Shinya as he continued to swim towards the actual land made of grass now in their peripheral. With both Irene and Lucas staring at each other for a second deciding not to talk about the action that just had happened they continued rushing as fast as they could out of the water.
With the water creatures right behind them the whole time trying to bite and nibble on their toes. They had to keep going no matter what their feet taking them to where they needed to go completely as they swam fast enough to catch up to Shinya and appeared next to him.
"Hurry the land is right there!!" Said Irene this time with such emotions in her voice as a cry for help it could nearly be seen as.
Hurrily and reaching towards the land and pulling himself up out of the water Lucas reached his hand out for Irene and Shinya one for each of them. Quickly he pulled both up with his cyber enhanced strength, his strength enough to knock down a bull. It was an insane feat, yet he was completely capable of it so pulling both up from the red mud like water wasn't that much of a chore. He struggled mainly because the cyber enhancements also made his body heavier even though he was stronger completely.
"We made it out were officially on actual land again..." said Lucas as he cached his breathe and looked around to see a tall tower way over yonder.
"Yeah, honestly I wasn't sure if I had enough strength in my legs to swim that much honestly" said Irene now trying to catch her breathe too.
"Yeah, it genuinely can feel like a lot that's for sure regarding anything physical if you're not used to those activities" said Lucas standing proud and tall clearly showing the fact that it didn't faze him as much as it did the other two.
"Well good on you then asshole" Said Irene sarcastically
"Let's ignore all that for now we have a much more important task at hand" said Shinya now with more seriousness in his voice then before.
"Look I think before anything we need to talk about this more way more. "Said Lucas
"Alright let's do it then on our way there "Said Shinya as he stood up and tried to get the water out of his clothes as they all prepared to go forward and continue on in their journey.
