Chapter 75 - Chapter 66: Offering Godhood to a Princess

Tet descended to the new world fully intent on claiming it and beating whatever god reigned over it—only to discover there wasn't one. Which made sense, since vampires practically ruled the planet and they were unaffected by holy symbols. Naturally, Tet claimed the world for himself.

Then he said, "That was anticlimactic. I'm actually a little disappointed. Oh well, I can't always play another god for their universe—especially if it hasn't been claimed. But in the case of this one, I think it was abandoned. Anyway I'm pretty sure I have a while before the fun begins, so… time for a bit of mischief."

Akira was yawning in the chairman's office when something strange happened. Sitting in the chair across from him appeared a young boy with white hair and mismatched eyes, staring right at him. Akira sat in stunned silence, trying to figure out how the boy had gotten there without him noticing. Snapping out of it, he said, "Hey kid, how'd you get in here?"

Tet thought for a moment, then said casually, "I teleported. It's a very convenient method of travel."

Akira sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Okay, don't answer my question. But I still gotta do my job and take you in for questioning. I've gotta assess any and all security risks—"

The door opened, and in walked a young girl with blonde twin tails and crimson eyes. "Akira, who are you speaking with—" She stopped short, her gaze falling on Tet.

Before Akira could answer, Tet leaned back in his chair and said cheerfully, "I'm Tet, God of Games, and new ruler of your universe."

Both Mina and Akira stared at him for a moment, then sighed in unison. Mina crossed her arms and said sharply, "Listen, little boy, you'd better tell me who you are or else I'll have to hold you for questioning."

Tet laughed, a light and mocking sound. "That's what Akira said."

Akira's eyes narrowed, his whole body tensing. "I never said my name."

Tet smirked. "You didn't have to. I know all about both of you plus she said it just now. But let's talk somewhere else—this place is a bit cramped."

He snapped his fingers, and the three were teleported away. They reappeared by Niagara Falls, the roar of water thundering around them. Tet conjured a table and chairs, as well as drinks, and gestured. "Please, sit."

Akira and Mina, still stunned, hesitated but did as instructed.

Akira leaned forward warily. "Okay, so you have some tricks. But that doesn't prove you're a god."

Tet sighed and waved his hand. Instantly, a thunderstorm roared to life above them, dark clouds swirling and lightning splitting the sky. He waved his hand again, and it all dispersed like smoke. "Is that enough, or should I cause a plague of locusts? Or perhaps turn all the world's water to blood? Please tell me when I've satisfied you… Sir Werewolf."

Mina's eyes widened, then she quickly bowed her head. "I apologize for my servant, Lord Tet. We are not accustomed to the presence of deities."

Tet tilted his head and smiled faintly. "I'd be surprised if you were. Considering your world didn't have any till now."

Akira's eyes widened further. "Are you saying we didn't have a god?"

Mina shot him a meaningful glare, cutting him off. He caught himself and quickly said, "My apologies, Lord Tet, but… if you could answer the question?"

Tet laughed. "No need for the 'Lord' crap. I don't need my ass kissed, especially not by you two. To answer your question—yes, you had no god till now. And I came here to bring Mina into my pantheon."

Mina's jaw dropped. "You… want me to be a goddess?"

"Yep," Tet said with a grin. "It's honestly the only thing I can do to keep Artemis from turning your world into a private game reserve. She's always wanted to hunt real werewolves and vampires."

Mina gulped. "Artemis? Like—the goddess of the hunt? That Artemis?"

"Yep," Tet confirmed. "She won't be able to hunt freely on your world if you rise to an equal station as her. Then she'll have to listen if you tell her no."

"So I don't have a choice…" Mina murmured, her voice trembling slightly.

"Nope," Tet said bluntly. "But being a god is pretty great. My pantheon is pretty free compared to others—we basically do what we want. You get to travel the multiverse, have true immortality—not that fake shit you vampires are so proud of. Oh, and you'll be able to make your lover here your immortal spouse, so he'll be with you forever."

Akira's face turned red instantly. "We're not in a relationship! Tell him, Princess—" He stopped when he looked at Mina and saw her staring at him, cheeks flushed, a twinkle of longing in her crimson eyes as she imagined the future.

Turning back to Tet, Mina asked with surprising resolve, "What do I need to do?"

"Ordinarily, I'd give you a trial," Tet explained, tapping a finger on the table. "And upon completion, you'd obtain power beyond your wildest dreams. But I've got too many of those going right now, and I'm trying to shore up my list of available subordinates before the year's out. So instead, I'm just gonna give you the power. In one week, when the three clans arrive, they'll force you both to participate in their little game—whichever of them kills Akira wins your hand in marriage."

The moment she heard that, Mina's hands clenched the table so tightly the wood cracked beneath her fingers.

Tet leaned back and smirked. "I want you to not only reverse the situation and kill them, but show them how powerless they actually are. Make them regret, for all eternity, the day they dared bare their fangs at their ruler."

With anger blazing in her crimson eyes, Mina said firmly, "Gladly. If I ascend to godhood, I won't need those three anymore anyway. Managing the vampire race will be child's play, even without help."

Tet smiled. "Good. Do that, and we'll consider it your initiation."

Then he held out his hand, and the moment she took it, power surged from him into her. His tone carried weight as he said, "What I've just given you is all the powers of Alucard, the son of Dracula."

Mina's eyes widened slightly, a shiver of awe running through her as she flicked her wrist. In an instant, Alucard's massive longsword materialized in her grip. She stared at the blade fondly, her lips curling into a dangerous smile, and said, "Killing the three fools in my current state will be easy… but I'll need to deal with their soldiers quickly."

Then Tet, calm yet calculating, said, "You have an army of werewolves more devoted to you than the vampires. Have them lie in wait near the enemy soldiers. The three clans would never imagine you'd attack them, and they might even falsely believe that the lack of werewolf presence is you being courteous."

Mina's crimson eyes glowed with understanding as she nodded sharply. "Yes, that would do. My vampiric soldiers would question such an order, but my Beowolves will follow it without hesitation. But what about Akira?"

Then Tet handed Mina a golden ticket, his expression serious yet encouraging, and said, "Tear that in half the day before the three clans arrive. It will summon some useful servants who can follow Akira and guard him, while also serving as your eyes and ears. Good luck to you both—I hope to hear good news soon."

With that, he disappeared in a dazzling kaleidoscope of colors.

Then Mina and Akira found themselves back in her office at the school. Mina stood up from her chair, her presence radiating quiet determination, and said, "Akira, let's go. I have to prepare for their arrival."

Akira gave a firm nod, his expression resolute, and followed Mina without hesitation.
