Bobby and Natalia made their way through the forest, fighting their way past several more revenants. After finding a key, they finally managed to unlock the gate that barred their path to the ruined village. Bobby helped Natalia carefully down the slope, steadying her with a hand on her shoulder.
As they walked toward the village, Natalia suddenly stiffened, her small hand pointing ahead.
"Bobby, a monster," she whispered.
Bobby instantly raised his pistol, eyes scanning the area.
"Where?" he asked sharply, tone gruff and serious.
Natalia's eyes widened as she stared at the empty air. "It was right there… didn't you see it?"
Bobby frowned, lowering his gun just slightly. "I'm afraid not, kiddo. You tell me if it comes back, alright?"
Natalia bit her lip, then gave a small nod, her expression determined despite the unease in her eyes. "Okay."
They continued cautiously through the quiet village, the wind whistling through broken windows and collapsed roofs. Then, in the center of the village, Natalia suddenly tugged at Bobby's sleeve, her voice urgent.
"Bobby, it's back!"
Bobby snapped his gun up again, tension flashing across his weathered face. "I can't see anything."
Natalia froze, then remembered the weapon strapped to her hip. She quickly raised her pepper ball gun, squinting as she aimed. With a sharp pfft, she fired—her shot landing against something unseen.
A piercing shriek echoed as a large insectoid monster shimmered into view, its invisible body outlined by the sting of Natalia's shot.
Bobby's eyes narrowed, and he immediately unloaded on it, the pistol's thunder echoing through the ruins as he filled the creature with lead until it collapsed, lifeless.
He exhaled heavily, lowering his smoking gun. "Fantastic. Invisible monsters." He gave Natalia a firm look, his voice both serious and protective. "You keep an eye out for more, okay? Tell me immediately if you see 'em."
Natalia straightened up, giving him a small but proud salute, her eyes sparkling with resolve. "Okay, Bobby. You can count on me."
Bobby gave a faint, approving smirk and said. "At ease soldier."
Together, they made their way toward the saloon. Inside, Bobby's eyes immediately caught sight of the gas-powered drill Pedro had dropped. He bent down with a grunt, strapped it to his bag, and muttered with satisfaction, "This'll come in handy."
With Natalia close at his side, the two left the ruined saloon and pressed forward. Soon, they reached a tunnel blocked with rubble. Bobby set his jaw, revved the drill, and tore through the debris with a practiced efficiency. Once the path was clear, they stepped through the tunnel and emerged into the outskirts of a city.
But they didn't get far.
As soon as they stepped out, a startling sight greeted them: two teenage girls sitting at a small camp. One had long black hair and cat ears, calmly reading a book by the fire. The other, with snow-white hair tied back elegantly, was tending a grill, her movements meticulous.
The black-haired girl glanced up with a faint, knowing smile. "See, Weiss? I told you they'd come this way."
Weiss Schnee looked up from the sizzling grill with a slightly surprised expression. "Huh. You were right."
Bobby approached cautiously, his grip still hovering near his pistol. His tone was wary but even. "Are you two the other players?"
The black-haired girl closed her book and gave him a polite nod, her amber eyes calm but assessing. "Yep. I'm Blake Belladonna. Nice to meet you."
Weiss gave a graceful flick of her hair, her words precise and proper. "I'm Weiss Schnee. Are you two hungry?"
Then Bobby said, names—Bobby Singer. I'm a hunter, and yeah, we could eat, couldn't we, Natalia?
Natalia smiled and ran over to Weiss. "Yeah — I haven't eaten since this morning," she said, voice bright with relief.
Weiss returned the smile, small but genuine, and said, "Well — have a seat. It'll be ready soon."
Bobby took a seat next to Blake, folding his arms and settling in. "We should pool information. What do you girls know?"
Blake hesitated, brows drawing together as she began to speak. "The bit—" then she remembered Natalia was there and softened, scolding herself with a small shake of her head. "Bad lady that we need to take out is in the tower over there. It blew up six months ago when we were in there last, but we know she survived — after being horribly mutated. We've seen her stalking around the city every now and then, but she never goes far from the tower."
Bobby said. "Why not take her out?"
Weiss answered. "We decided to wait for you. Three guns are better than two, and we wanted to minimize the chances of her fleeing and hiding somewhere else on the island."
Bobby nodded once. "Makes sense. I think we should lure her out into the open. Two of us keep her busy at close range while one of us takes shots from up high — that way, if she tries to flee, the others can keep track of her." He reached into his coat and produced two radios he'd grabbed from the RV. "We can keep in touch with these. Now — who's sniping?"
Blake's eyes sharpened; she straightened and said, "I'll do it. I have the best eyesight." There was a quiet determination underlying her tone.
Bobby handed her his assault rifle with a grunt. "Don't miss."
Blake accepted the rifle and the radio with a small, cocky smirk. "Right back at you. Sure you can keep up, old man?"
Bobby's mouth curved into a grin. "Just watch and learn, kid."
Weiss raised an eyebrow, slightly amused and a touch indignant. "I love how you two just made a plan without even asking me."
Bobby and Blake looked at Weiss; Blake tilted her head and asked, "You got a better plan?"
Weiss paused, smoothing her skirt with a prim, controlled motion. "Well, no — but it still would have been nice."
Bobby looked to Natalia. "Natalia — you stay with Blake, okay?"
Natalia's face fell for a beat, pleading. "But I wanna help."
Bobby's voice softened, firm but protective. "You will. Someone has to watch Blake's back and make sure nothing sneaks up on her."
Blake's grin widened, warm for a moment. "Yeah, Natalia — can I count on you?"
Natalia brightened instantly and nodded, smiling proudly. "Yeah — I've got your back."
Bobby stood, resolve in his posture. "Alright. We've got our plan. Let's take this woman out and go home."
Weiss gathered her gear with efficient movements, expression set and focused. "Finally. Let's go."
Later, Blake and Natalia were perched safely on a rooftop, a decent distance from the tower. Blake crouched low, her amber eyes focused, while Natalia clutched her weapon nervously, glancing between the street and Blake for reassurance.
They waited silently until the sound of gunfire and roaring shook the air — Weiss and Bobby burst out of the tower, sprinting into the open with the mutated Alex barreling after them.
Once they were in the clear, Bobby and Weiss stopped running, immediately spreading out and circling Alex, both unloading round after round into her twisted body.
Alex roared in pain and fury, realizing she had been tricked. Her hateful gaze locked onto Weiss, and she charged.
But as soon as she closed the distance, Blake's voice cut sharp through the air: "Not happening." She laid down a precise volley of covering fire, forcing Alex to stumble back with a shriek.
Bobby gritted his teeth and switched to incendiary ammo, his shots igniting on impact, burning and scorching Alex's skin. Each round made her wail louder, her monstrous voice echoing across the ruins.
Weiss seized the opening, her expression hard and unflinching. With one fluid motion, she raised her shotgun and fired — the blast tore through one of Alex's legs, sending the mutant crashing to her hands and knees.
Seeing the battle nearly finished, Blake put a hand on Natalia's shoulder and guided her forward. "Come on," she said firmly, laying down suppressing fire as they moved closer to the fight.
After a few more coordinated blows, Alex collapsed, unmoving. Blake and Natalia joined Bobby and Weiss in the aftermath, the four standing over the seemingly lifeless body.
Weiss stepped forward, cautious but curious, and peered down at the corpse. "Is it over?" she asked, voice tight with suspicion.
Suddenly, Alex lunged upward with a snarl, claws raised for Weiss — but before she could strike, a combat knife whistled through the air and embedded itself between her eyes, piercing her brain. Alex dropped for the final time, dead.
Weiss spun around, wide-eyed, only to see Blake lowering her hand with a small, satisfied smirk. "Promise fulfilled, bitch."
The four of them suddenly began glowing gold.
Bobby glanced at his companions, raising his brows. "Looks like we're done. See you three in a minute."
Then, in a flash, they were teleported back to Bobby's living room. Waiting there were Tet, Hestia, Sam, Ruby, and Yang — all clapping.
Tet smiled warmly and said, "Well done. You all performed beautifully. Especially you, Blake. You were absolutely right — why waste time trying to find keys that might not exist when you can just rip the door down?"
Yang folded her arms with a scoff. "Yeah. Wait a minute — isn't that the exact reason you two didn't want me to go? You didn't puzzle out shit — you just destroyed everything that got in your way."
Weiss let out a delicate sigh, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Well, in my defense, I didn't expect Blake to do any of that."
Blake gave a small shrug, her tone casual but edged with quiet pride. "It seemed like the best choice."
Tet clapped his hands once. "Anyway — it's reward time."
Bobby stepped forward, his face firm, voice steady but carrying weight. "About that… can I forfeit my reward in exchange for you making Natalia real and bringing her here?"
Sam blinked in confusion. "Uh, Bobby… Natalia's beside you."
Bobby turned his head sharply. Natalia stood there smiling brightly up at him, her small frame full of warmth and life.
Tet chuckled softly. "I already anticipated that." He handed Bobby a manila folder filled with documents. "I've already created an identity for her. There's her adoption paperwork, her social security card, and everything else you'll need. Hestia decorated a room for her, and she starts school in a week."
Bobby's rough features softened, his eyes glistening with quiet gratitude. He gave a small nod. "Thank you kindly."
Tet smiled, then continued. "Anyway, here's your reward." He handed Bobby Barry's Colt Python. "I've remade this gun to have the same capabilities as the Colt — so now it can kill most of the things in this world. It has infinite ammo, and can only be used by you or anyone you give permission."
Bobby's eyes went wide, his voice rough with awe. "Holy shit. I already liked this gun — now I love it." He looked down at Natalia with a small smile. "Alright, Natalia, let's go check out your room and get you settled in."
Natalia beamed and happily followed Bobby up the stairs.
Meanwhile, Tet handed Blake a blue-handled katana in a black sheath.
Blake raised an eyebrow, tilting her head. "A katana?"
Tet grinned knowingly. "Not just any katana. This one is indestructible and cuts through steel like butter. Only you can wield it."
Blake's eyes widened, her lips curving into a genuine smile as her earlier aloofness slipped away. "Thank you very much."
Next, Tet walked over to Weiss and pulled out a massive black wooden rifle, intricately decorated with gold bands and white engravings, complete with a scope. "This rifle is called Muramasa. Its ammo is infinite, and only you can use it."
Weiss's eyes sparkled as she carefully took the weapon, admiring the craftsmanship with delight.
Ruby pouted, crossing her arms and whining, "No fair! You guys got weapons, Yang got a car… when do I get something?"
Yang smirked, leaning lazily against the couch. "I don't want to hear that from the girl who ate all those goddess cookies."
Hestia giggled and said warmly, "Don't worry, Yang. I packed you some in a to-go box."
Yang immediately grabbed the box, cradling it protectively against her chest with a mischievous grin. "Thank you, Lady Hestia." She turned away from Ruby, holding the cookies out of reach.
Tet chuckled, shaking his head. "You and Yang will be starting your own game soon, Ruby. I just have to figure out where I'm sending you. But for now, everyone — get settled, play with your new toys, and meet back here in a little while."
With that, everyone dispersed to do their own thing, while Tet leaned back to relax beside Hestia.
Then Tet said oh I almost forgot and snapped his fingers. Then the copy of Alex's personality inside Natalia was erased from existence freeing the girl from her cursed fate.
