Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Infiltrating the Gu Clan I Am Your Father

The paper slip floated down from the sky and when Gu Yuan saw the four bold words written on it his fury surged like a tidal wave. With a single strike of his palm the entire Fallen Mountain Range collapsed into ruins. The ground trembled the mountain peaks cracked apart and the sky was filled with dust and shattered stone. The mighty array that had been meticulously prepared and the efforts of countless elites all became meaningless in an instant.

The elite forces of the Gu Clan had been mobilized. The three immortals of the Gu Clan had all gathered. Even one of the reclusive Supreme Elders had been drawn out. The commander of the Black Yan Army was here. A thousand mile sealing formation had been deployed to prevent even the smallest trace of escape. Almost all of the Gu Clan's high level combat power had been mobilized just for the sake of eliminating Xu Wu Tun Yan and rescuing Xun Er.

Yet the result was a disgrace beyond imagination. Xun Er had not been rescued. Instead they had been fooled and played around by two mere puppets. Over a thousand Black Yan Army soldiers had died tragic deaths. And the most humiliating of all the Tou She Ancient Emperor Jade had been stolen away right before their eyes.

It was the kind of humiliation that would echo in history.

Looking at the many Gu Clan elites around him Gu Yuan felt for the first time a deep sense of helplessness. His heart tightened as a sudden dreadful thought struck him.

He had brought all the elites of the Gu Clan out here leaving the interior of the clan exposed. Xu Wu Tun Yan had not appeared. If all of this had been nothing more than a diversion then what awaited inside their clan grounds.

"Return to the Gu Clan at once."

Gu Yuan's furious voice exploded and in an instant he led the gathered powerhouses away from the Fallen Mountain Range. The vast mountains were silent once more the only sound being the whisper of the cold wind.

Not long after a series of black robed figures stepped out of the void. Their arrival was silent yet their presence distorted the air itself. At the forefront stood a man whose aura was no weaker than Gu Yuan's own. It was none other than Hun Tiandi the master of the Soul Clan.

Behind him stood two men exuding a murderous aura so intense that the air itself seemed to ripple. They were Soul Tu and Soul Yan both terrifying powerhouses in their own right.

"Mantis stalking the cicada unaware of the oriole behind" Hun Tiandi said with a faint smile. "But in the end both mantis and oriole ended up empty handed. How amusing."

He extended his sleeve and with a casual wave a wisp of drifting black flame and several fragments of the destroyed puppets flew into his grasp. Hun Tiandi examined the fragments for a moment his eyes flashing with a strange light. The level of refinement and the near sentient intelligence of these puppets was extraordinary. They had even fooled him for a brief moment.

And then there was that golden talisman. It had somehow ignored the very rules of this plane's space. Even if he had intervened he could not have stopped its effect.

"Hun Tiandi lord" Soul Tu said his brow furrowed "was that really Xu Wu Tun Yan just now."

It was difficult to understand. Why would Xu Wu Tun Yan betray the Soul Clan so suddenly.

Hun Tiandi nodded slightly then shook his head his expression darkening. His five fingers tightened and the captured wisp of black flame was crushed into nothingness.

"Xu Wu Tun Yan perhaps is already dead" Hun Tiandi murmured.

Far away in the vast continent few knew the locations of the eight ancient clans. To the majority of people these clans were like hidden gods existing beyond their reach. Only those at the very peak of the continent's pyramid had the qualifications to even know of them.

The Gu Clan resided in the eastern region of Central Plains. Across the endless wild grasslands there stood a colossal city its walls vast and majestic. Faint light barriers enveloped the entire city casting a protective glow.

High above this ancient city a black robed figure floated silently. In his arms was a girl of exquisite beauty with clear bright eyes. This figure was none other than Hun Miesheng.

"You really are going to send me home" Gu Xun Er asked her voice filled with disbelief. She gazed up at him her heart wavering. This terrifying demon had truly carried her all the way to the entrance of the Gu Realm.

"What do you think" Hun Miesheng chuckled softly.

"Hmph" Gu Xun Er turned her face away. "I think you must be planning something sinister again. Your belly is always full of bad schemes. If you dare to cause trouble in the Gu Realm are you not afraid of my father. He is a nine star peak Dou Sheng."

"Your father" Hun Miesheng's laughter grew darker. Two intelligent puppets had already been enough to give Gu Yuan trouble. For a short time Gu Yuan would not be able to return. From the very beginning Hun Miesheng had never intended to attend the Fallen Mountain Peak meeting.

That entire so called transaction had only been a decoy. Gu Yuan would spare nothing to ensure success. Once the Tou She Ancient Emperor Jade was mentioned even Hun Tiandi himself would inevitably be drawn to intervene. If Hun Miesheng had really gone there he would never have returned alive.

Those two intelligent puppets had cost him forty thousand villain points and their lifespan was only one day. A small boundary breaking teleportation talisman had cost another twelve thousand villain points. To ensure success he had even poured nearly all of his soul force and a trace of Xu Wu Tun Yan's true essence into one of the puppets. For the next few days his soul force would be greatly weakened.

The other puppet had been filled with the thunder fire pearls he had refined during the days in the Void Lightning Pool all for the sake of delivering a single devastating surprise strike to Gu Yuan. It would not kill him outright but it would leave him suffering.

As for whether the Tou She Ancient Emperor Jade could really be obtained that depended on the performance of the puppets and whether the talisman could work as intended. He estimated his chances at seventy percent. It was a gamble. If he lost over fifty thousand villain points would be wasted. If he won he would gain the Emperor Jade without even lifting a finger.

But Hun Miesheng's ambitions extended further. Spending so much only to acquire a piece of jade that was not immediately useful would still be a loss in his eyes. He needed to maximize his profits.

Gu Yuan had gone out with almost the entire elite force of the Gu Clan. This was a rare chance and perhaps the only one he would ever have.

A smile spread across his face.

Seeing that strange look on his face Gu Xun Er trembled. This man was far too terrifying.

"How do we enter the Gu Realm" Hun Miesheng asked his eyes coldly fixed on her. With his current soul force to locate the Gu Realm precisely and break open its space would take too much time.

"You only need to use my blood. That can open the gate" Xun Er answered softly.

A flash of cold light swept across.

A deep cut appeared across her delicate hand. Bright red blood dripped out and the space before them trembled. A faintly discernible gateway split open in the void.

"You" Xun Er gasped clutching her wounded hand her face paling.

A pill was shoved into her mouth. As the medicinal power spread the wound began to slowly close. She looked at the nearly bone deep cut tears welling in her eyes her lips pressed tight.

"I will not pity beauty" Hun Miesheng sneered wickedly. Carrying her he stepped through the gate.

The tremor in space naturally drew the attention of the Gu Clan soldiers guarding the Sacred City. But they merely assumed that some elder was returning from outside. In the morning their patriarch had left with thousands of soldiers. They knew the clan would not remain peaceful for long.

Inside the Gu Realm a lush wilderness stretched before them. Mountains rivers forests all lay under a vast sky. It was like a smaller replica of the Dou Qi Continent itself. Even Hun Miesheng was faintly impressed. To create such a realm would have required the combined effort of several high ranking Dou Shengs and centuries of consolidation.

Setting foot on her homeland Xun Er's mood brightened slightly. "Can I come down now. I promise I will not run away." Her face reddened as she felt the warmth of his hand at her waist. She struggled a little and spoke in a small voice.

Hun Miesheng chuckled and looked at her as though at a fool.

"Young lady of the Gu Clan do you really think I kindly brought you back home."

He raised his hand. A mask covered his face and with a ripple of light it shifted into the appearance of Gu Yuan.

Xun Er froze her eyes wide.

"From now on I am your father" Hun Miesheng declared.

"You you shameless villain" Xun Er's face flushed scarlet her body trembling with anger.

Hun Miesheng caressed her delicate cheek. "Be good daughter. Now take father to the place where the Golden Emperor Burning Sky Flame is sealed."

Laughing loudly he dragged her along as a streak of light toward the sacred mountain range of the Gu Clan.
