The figure of Xu Wu Tun Yan hung silently in the sky. His dark robes flowed like shadow and in his hand he clutched the slender neck of Gu Xun Er. Her flawless pale skin flushed faintly as she struggled weakly her beautiful face drained of color.
Gu Yuan's eyes burned as he saw his daughter restrained in that cruel grasp. His heart ached yet fury surged within him. His voice thundered across the heavens.
Void Devouring Flame if you dare harm Xun Er even half a hair today you will never walk away alive.
As he spoke the aura of a peak nine star Dou Sheng erupted in full. The entire world dimmed under the oppressive force. The ancient mountain trembled as though bowing under his power. Even the elders of the Gu Clan who stood nearby felt their bodies freeze under the immense pressure.

Gu Yuan's expression turned gloomy. These men behind him are but elders of lesser strength merely three or four star Dou Sheng. Since when has the great Void Devouring Flame become so timid as to fear even such strength. If that is all then step back.
He raised his hand and commanded the four elders.

The four exchanged glances then turned to withdraw.

Xu Wu Tun Yan sneered and with a sudden roar torrents of black fire erupted from his body sweeping out for dozens of li around the peak of Fallen Mountain. In an instant the land transformed into a sea of dark flames.
Space rippled and from within were forced out two eight star Dou Sheng and two seven star Dou Sheng their concealment torn apart by the fire. Their formation encircled the battlefield sealing every exit. Dozens of armored soldiers hidden in the void were burned to ash by the rolling flames leaving not a trace behind.

The world seemed to pause for an instant. Even Gu Xun Er forgot her pain her bright eyes fixed upon her father. Deep inside she both longed for and dreaded his answer.
The cold wind swept across the mountain peak carrying silence. Gu Yuan stood still his face unreadable and gave no reply.
Tsk tsk so it is true people are always selfish.
The mocking voice spread through the sky stinging the hearts of all who heard it.
In that single breath of distraction a massive black hand emerged from the void seizing the green jade.
Gu Yuan's eyes darkened instantly.
Xu Wu Tun Yan rolled the jade in his palm then with a casual squeeze shattered it into powder. The dust scattered upon the wind.
So the reason you cared so little for this object was because it was false.
His laughter cut like ice.

His wicked laughter resounded as he leaned close to Gu Xun Er his fingers brushing her dark hair. With a swirl of fire he began to depart.

Her voice trembled as tears streamed down her face her gaze locked on Gu Yuan in desperate hope. His heart twisted painfully at her cry.

His hand lifted and another piece of green jade appeared glowing with ancient light.
This is the true Tuoshe Ancient Emperor Jade.
Dou Qi surged around him the full force of a nine star Dou Sheng erupting. Yet the jade remained untouched flawless under the power.
Xu Wu Tun Yan halted his departure his lips curling faintly.
I will count to three. You give me Xun Er and I give you this jade. That is my final line. No tricks.
Gu Yuan's sleeves billowed though no wind blew. His aura of peak nine star Dou Sheng filled the heavens.

To Gu Yuan's surprise Xu Wu Tun Yan accepted without hesitation. No fear of traps no caution. A strange unease stirred in Gu Yuan's heart though he could not identify the reason.
Then let us begin.
Xu Wu Tun Yan stretched lazily his tone indifferent.
Gu Yuan forced aside his doubts. He had to rescue Xun Er first. Once she was safe then would come the death of this fiend.

The world fell silent the only sound the slow counting.

She burst into sobs her face streaked with tears. Gu Yuan wasted not a moment pulling her behind him. His expression hardened instantly.
In his palm another jade token appeared glowing white. Endless killing intent surged from his body.
Activate the grand array. Strike with full force. Erase Xu Wu Tun Yan.
The heavens roared. Golden beams of light shot upward for a thousand li forming an ancient formation that sealed the land. Countless figures soared into the sky ready to fight.

Gu Yuan advanced step by step his aura like a collapsing world.
Yet Xu Wu Tun Yan remained unmoved. He glanced toward the distant void as though listening to another rhythm of time.

His voice was soft yet carried far. He turned back with mocking eyes.
