Chapter 108 - Lonely Palace, Death that shattered heavens, part 12

The doll looked at Luna longingly. She stood there patiently until Luna spoke up.

"Me? Your master?" Luna asked.

"Yes," the doll added bluntly.

"But… I am not. It's the first time I've met you."

"Yes… you are my master," the doll persisted, fidgeting with her tiny fingers.

"I am not! First, what—" Luna tried to tell something, but the doll cut her off.

"You are."

"Ahaha," Luna laughed nervously and cleared her throat. "Okay, first, what's your name?"

The doll only stared at her in response.

Oh, that's not good. You don't have a name…

"You don't have one? Then, do you want me to name you?" Luna jumped in place at the possibility, her eyes glimmering at the idea.

The doll, seeing Luna's reaction, looked at the ground with a blush. "Yes."

Luna crawled up to the doll. With a genuine smile on her face, she hugged the doll tightly.

"Of course I'll name you if that's what you want! I will give you the best name I can think of! I'll think of many for you to choose from, so that you will be satisfied with at least one!"

The doll looked at the ground, away from Luna's gaze. If she had a heartbeat, it would have shot through the roof with its loudness.

"Then, then! Let me think!" Luna grabbed her chin, scratching it while thinking. She looked at the doll and saw the daggers standing out.

Daggers… those daggers… to protect one? Mmm… white hair, red eyes… to protect? To protect… oh, I have one!

Luna placed the doll back on her legs and looked at her warmly.

"I have one! I've come up with one! Do you want to hear it?" she asked cheerfully.

The doll looked with her eyes at Luna and nodded once.

"Then, this is the name I've come up with! Theia. Do you like it?" She looked at the doll, her eyes awaiting a response.

The doll looked up at Luna with her red eyes wide open with confusion, as if the name was eerily similar to something she had known before.

She shook her head and then nodded, murmuring with a blushing face, "Yes."

Luna took Theia into her arms and stood up. She held her lightly in her embrace, allowing her to see what was in front of them.

Luna looked at the painting girl with a blush on her face. "Thank you for your help. I still need to explore one last place. So after I see what's there, I'll come back here!"

The Painting Girl's smile didn't reach her cheerful eyes. She waved at Luna as she turned back with Theia in her arms.

Walking down to the exit doors, she turned back, remembering to ask for her name. "Ah, I forgot; can I ask you what your name is ?…"

But as she turned back, she saw the painting girl hanging from a rope, blood pouring down her body, dripping awfully fast. She was swinging from side to side.

Luna's mouth twisted and contracted in fear, and she jolted while covering Theia's eyes.

Rushing down the corridor towards the staircase, Luna ran without looking back.

What happened? Why, why is she hanging? That blood, why!

Luna stopped in her tracks, still covering Theia's eyes, and turned back to look towards the living room. Is she okay? Luna frowned at her thoughts.

She jolted and ran down the staircase, through the other doors, and down the grandiose staircase into the main grand hall.

Stopping by the basement doors, Luna breathed heavily as the realisation of what had happened sank in.

Theia gradually looked up at Luna, seeing her eyes fill with tears and flow down. "Luna?" Theia said, her voice filled with concern.
