THE PRINCESS SECRET
CHAPTER 5
TRINA'S*POV (Point of View)*
*After*
As I reflected on what had transpired between Prince Felix
and me, I couldn't shake off the puzzled feeling. The look he gave me lingered
in my mind, especially since we had just met a few days ago. I wondered what
had prompted that intense gaze.
I brushed aside my thoughts, chalking it up to being overly
dramatic. After finishing breakfast, Roomy and I engaged in our usual banter,
fighting over food. He, as always, managed to get the better end of the deal.
Seeking a change of pace, we decided to blast music in our
room. My dad passed by, knocked on the door, and – unable to hear us over the
music – burst in, turning off the speakers. "Roomy, please tell her to
stop blasting music in here. People are in the house, and she needs to act like
a lady, a princess that she is."
I felt a surge of annoyance, so I switched the music back
on. My father pulled me outside, instructing me to turn it off. I was being
stubborn, trying to get my point across, but my mom intervened, slapping me.
The sharp pain in my ear, accompanied by the ringing, left me shocked and
tearful.
As I looked up, I saw the bittersweet smile on my mom's
face. "Mom, you never laid a hand on me, even when I broke your precious
vases. I get it, I've been a brat. But what do you guys know about me? I've
been hiding things in my heart that you couldn't understand."
My dad pulled me into a hug as I broke down in tears. Roomy,
standing sideways, wore a concerned smile my mom alongside my siblings joined the hug

at nothing in particular
