Another Verdant bomb swung towards the invader accompanied by two projected hands helping the flow. The hands made sure that the Verdant attack was going towards the target and its velocity was good enough to cause the impact. Another shield of needles and stings was brought in between, but this time the blast was large enough to drag the bastard a little behind. It seemed the sync was slowly setting between the duo.
"Yeah... Take that" Goan shouted.
Shalon was set for another round of spar. The impact from verdant gorilla often leaves the target stunned for a while, as the force generated on the body is tremendous. And that's why Shalon buzzed in two punches and a scissor cut.
The scissor cut left a huge tear on the chest of the invader and it soon started bleeding. That's when he used a different move, taking his own poisoned needle and piercing it at the site of impact, he started healing himself.
"Your curse is my life source boys" he smirked "seems it's time to get serious"
That's when he summoned fifteen poisoned needles larger than a human. Those were big and exceptional, as if the crimson moon had risen a bit and more frogs came out of the pond to torment. The small damps were now flooded with water and that's what made the movement harder. It was merely the intense pressure applied by the spectral energy that made each step complicated. One needle aimed for Goan which he stopped through his shield and the other one for Shalon which he slashed through scissor cut. But there were many more to come, and that's when the sync and coordination just was broken. Both the boys were separated, trying to evade the attack. The ground that was left with the remnant of the poison clearly showed the effect. It was all dark and dead all around. That's when the same old man who saved Raizon before came in with a medical box in his hand.
"Sorry for the delay, people," he said in his introduction.
"What are you doing here old man" Goan shouted "it's dangerous".
"Well your friends here need me" he explained "I was medico for years and that too, specialised in poisons".
"That comes in handy" Shalon was relieved by the sudden appearance of the old man just like an angel in the tough times.
That's when he took his kit and set it near Patt, opening it he first took a completely empty needle to take out the sample of the poison and examine it.
"What are you doing old man? Protect the kid over there" Patt wanted Raizon to be saved first.
"Well my practice disapproves of it. It commands me to first treat the man who would be more useful in the situation" the old man injected the needle to take out the blood sample "ohh and how long can you hold that guy over there?"
"For few more minutes" Shalon replied
"Or maybe for seconds" Goan added
"Well bad for you" the old man replied, busy examining the sample "it seems reinforcement will take half an hour to arrive".
"Isn't that old man too casual about it all" Goan was right on the mark.
"This is the only time I might agree with you" Shalon replied "but we are held back for now. We have to hold this bastard"
"You know what Shalon" Goan smiled "we can do it"
Shalon suddenly felt a surge of happiness flowing inside him, it was the first time Goan took his name. And in such detained times support is all one needs. The duo fist bumped and gazed right back at the crimson moon's luteinizing gaze. Goan rushed in knowing he had high defensive power, the plan was clear and communicated through eyes. The Verdant aura through the fist was diverted towards the invader which he stopped and as a counter he summoned a poisonous sting which was deflected by the shield. Goan was barely keeping up with the scenario and thus as an aid came Shalon with his Wolf Alora. It's another great technique of Shalon that helps him summon a wolf tribe to attack the target. The wolves always hunt in the packs and this time they were going against the poisonous frog and the crimson moon. But their movement fainted a little due to the flooded aura and thus before they could come closer Falvish finished them off with his poison needles. The dead wolves vapourised and then came Shalon with another scissor cut, still both of them were held back by the man alone. But this time he was terrified and nervous as the calm expressions were gone. He had to move and respond in order to protect himself and that was quite taunting for him. Goan swinged in the powerful stroke from the Verdant Gorilla that again stunned him for few seconds and as the result Shalon got another opening.
"Here's the bad news, Patt" the old man said as he prepared the syringe for the poison. "I only have one dose for this severe poison. And making another one will take several hours"
Patt was clearly trying to say something but the paralysis had reached his mouth. He wanted the antidote to be given to Raizon but the old man was rightful for his duty. Goan and Shalon heard the words and thus contacted their eyes for a second amidst the fight. The single second shared their sad and broken heart, even though the trio had just met but still they had fought a battle together. Still they had slept together under the same roof and ate on the same table. And realising that your departure won't be with a goodbye instead it would be with a death is quite traumatizing.
"I'm sorry warrior" the old man said as he injected the antidote "I have to save Patt first, this is an impossible request but if you can hold till the reinforcement arrives then we can save you"
Raizon couldn't respond either as he was still hanging onto the wall. His eyes were weak and his body was half dead, as he listened to those words he accepted his faith and was ready to close his eyes. The moment was dead wrong and the tears could be seen coming down from the Verdant boy.
"Ge.... Get hold of yourself Goan" Shalon shouted as he blocked another attack and gazed back at Raizon.
The beats were slowing down and the hands grasping the needle in a failed attempt to remove it finally fell down. His eyes finally took the last gaze of the people who stood with him and dived into the darkness….
