Mo An escorted Lin Xu, Yan Mei, and the kids toward a well-hidden house at the corner of the residence. The place was huge, with wooden décor, but it looked like it hadn't been touched for years.
"We are here," Mo An said with an awkward smile. "You'll be staying here from now on. Some maids will be sent over, and you can choose out of the twelve which you would like to serve you. I'll take my leave now."
Just as Mo An was about to leave, Lin Xu stopped her. "Wait," she said softly, glancing around the quiet courtyard. "This house… who did it belong to before?"
Mo An's eyes flickered slightly before she replied in a calm but low voice, "It used to be the quarters of my mother… and Mo Ying's."
Her words made Lin Xu and Yan Mei exchange quick glances. For a moment, no one spoke.
Mo An hesitated, then said quietly, "I don't know who you are or why my brother has been obsessed with you for so long, but the fact that he gave you our mother's quarters shows how much he values you."
