Mo Ying rode into the Mo residence with Lin Xu sitting in front of him, his arm loosely around her waist as the horse came to a stop in the middle of the courtyard. Every head turned at once. The guards, the servants, even the maids holding trays froze in place. Whispering filled the air like a low buzz.
Behind them, the second carriage rolled in, carrying Yan Mei and the children. Fu Han had already jumped down, helping them out one by one. The triplets looked around with wide, curious eyes, clinging to Yan Mei's hands.
At the front of the crowd, Grandma Mo sat quietly, her wrinkled face calm but her sharp eyes taking in everything. Beside her stood Madam Mo, her expression stiff, and Uncle Mo, who tried to keep his face blank. Mo Lan, however, couldn't hide the huge grin spreading across her face.
"Mo Ying?" Grandma Mo's voice finally broke the silence. "You are back and who is this woman you've brought with you?"
