The method for forging a Dao Altar was not particularly difficult—at least not in principle. In fact, anyone who had reached a certain realm of cultivation would naturally come to understand it.
Once the Ancestral Orifice was opened and one had passed Heaven's trial, a Purple Qi Altar would form. This altar wasn't the true structure, but a foundation—the embryonic stage of the altar. Its quality determined how far one could go. If it was too flawed, it wouldn't be able to support a powerful altar later.
To construct a Dao Altar, one could base it on various archetypes:
Three Talents, Four Symbols, Five Elements, Seven Stars, Eight Trigrams, Nine Palaces, Heavenly Gang, Earthly Fiends, Zhou Tian (Cosmic Cycle)...
There were also countless unique altars beyond these traditional types.Choosing a type and using compatible miraculous materials from Heaven and Earth would determine the altar's properties. These weren't strictly ranked—each archetype came with its unique traits.
For example, a Three Talents Altar (Heaven, Earth, and Man) would let the cultivator draw upon the strength of all three in harmony—gaining advantages from timing, location, and human support.
A Four Symbols Altar could manifest the power of the four cardinal beasts—Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermillion Bird, and Black Tortoise—to protect the four directions.
A Five Elements Altar required materials infused with metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Once completed, it would greatly enhance the cultivation of any Five Elements-based Dao.
Each layer of the altar added more power and stability. You could stop at one—one layer was enough to sustain a Dao.But the more you built, the stronger and more perfect your Dao became. The altar would not only empower your cultivation, but also protect your Dao Fruit.
"Altars are forged only during the first realm of altar cultivation," Yi Tianxing reflected. "Once you ascend past this stage, the innate sacrificial fire fades—and with it, your chance to build further. The fuel for this sacrificial fire is innate Purple Qi, and the altar base is the current round purple altar."
According to what he had inherited, the purple altar was merely a gestation platform—a womb. It wasn't a real altar yet. Every layer added would draw from its strength, eventually consuming and merging with it. It served to integrate miraculous materials and give rise to a true altar.
Choosing what kind of altar to build was no easy task.
No one could truly know how many layers their altar embryo could support. Sometimes, one could see with the naked eye whether an altar was flimsy or solid—and thus guess how many layers could be sustained. One or two layers might be the limit for many. Some only had the potential for a single layer.
Another key requirement: Array mastery.
A cultivator had to know how to embed the miraculous power of the materials into a formation diagram, binding everything together. Without it, the altar wouldn't be stable.
"The stronger the altar, the greater the power. Since I have this chance, I must forge an eternal and indestructible foundation. I already have the formations—now it depends on the miraculous materials I possess."
With a wave of his hand, dozens of Heavenly Treasures appeared before him—each one strange, unassuming, and without any spiritual glow. They looked just like ordinary rocks or debris.
But these were far from ordinary.
Gathering them had required the strength of the entire Great Yi Dynasty. Some were bought with merit points from the God-Demon Battlefield; others looted from Eternal Night battlefields.
The Great Yi, with its massive population and reach, had a clear advantage in this regard.
"Let's start with the Three Talents Altar—Heaven, Earth, and Man. I need materials that contain all three powers. Wordless Heavenly Tome, it's your turn."
Yi Tianxing turned toward the pile of miraculous materials with anticipation. It was incredibly difficult to distinguish what type of miracle power was hidden within each item. Even his Innate Yin-Yang Eyes were not very effective here.
But the Wordless Heavenly Tome, now a fully evolved Innate Spirit Treasure, was much more capable.
"Little Mi is happy to help Master," a chubby youth appeared, riding the floating book. "In the past, I wasn't strong enough. But now? These miracle materials are like open books to me."
He beamed with delight as he looked over the pile.
"Miracle materials are born from impossible conditions—moments when fate shifts and Heaven itself changes course. That's why they are called miracles. Each one is unique. They naturally block divine sight and detection. Most cultivators wouldn't even recognize one if it was under their nose."
Excitedly, Little Mi reached into the pile.
"Master, this stone pearl contains Earth power. This finger bone holds the essence of Man. And this rock, containing a drop of water, embodies the power of Heaven. These three are perfect for a Three Talents Altar!"
He pulled out the three miracle materials. Without his help, even expert appraisers might have taken days to determine compatibility—and still failed.
Mismatched materials would lead to a failed altar, or worse—one that exploded, injuring or crippling the cultivator. Many newly advanced Dao Platform experts had fallen into this trap.
"Good. Then I'll begin with the Three Talents Altar."
Without hesitation, Yi Tianxing took the three materials and absorbed them into his Purple Palace, placing them atop the purple altar.
With a thought, he activated the fusion.
"Three Talents Grand Formation—gather!"
The moment the three items touched the altar, they fused seamlessly, as if returning home.
Under his guidance, a Three Talents formation emerged. Purple Qi surged, turning into flame—the Innate Sacrificial Fire—which engulfed the materials completely.
Inside the flame, a transformation began.
The three items began melting—not dissolving, but transforming into three ancient runes, glowing with mystic radiance. These weren't ordinary runes, but miracle glyphs that encapsulated profound laws.
The Power of Miracle—a force that transcended the laws of Heaven and Earth.
Miracle power + innate sacrificial fire + miracle material essence = miracle rune.
These three runes represented:
Heaven
Earth
Man
Each one pulsed with endless meaning.
As the fire refined them, the three runes released brilliant light and rotated in a harmonious orbit. The glow they emitted solidified into a new altar—a triangular altar, corresponding to the Three Talents.
Purple-gold Qi flowed into it like liquid, reinforcing the altar until it became completely solid—materializing above the original purple altar like a second layer.
"The Purple Qi altar shrank."
Yi Tianxing immediately noticed that the original altar had silently contracted—a sign that it had been consumed as nourishment for the new layer.
The Three Talents Altar now exuded a unique aura—like that of an Innate Spirit Treasure—eternally stable.
"So this is an altar… I can feel it now. This structure connects me directly to Heaven and Earth. Every movement I make carries the power of Heaven, Earth, and Man. The altar empowers me continuously. This is the line between ordinary cultivators and true great beings. Only now… am I truly in the Dao Platform Realm."
He took a deep breath, marveling at the continuous stream of Three Talents power surging through him.
He watched the runes flicker atop the altar, ever-changing in mysterious, ancient rhythms.
"Little Mi, next—I want you to find me materials with the Four Symbols power."
Yi Tianxing had no intention of stopping at just one layer.
His foundation was deep.
He would build many layers.
