Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Island hopping.

Now the sight of a large avian creature's shadow coming closer to someone would be a portent of doom but for Shaun, it's more a form of rescue since carried in the talons of the large flying Pokémon seems to be a cage of some sort.

When they approached, Shaun got up and started snuffing out the fire since it was no longer needed, by the time he was done with the fire the Pokémon had landed depositing its cage which had the words 'Taxi' written on a headboard sign at the front of it.

Stepping out from the cage is a man wearing aviation goggles, a fur-lined hat and a flight jacket, it doesn't take long for them to approach me and start to speak.

"Signal fire?" "Signal fire" Shaun replies since that explains everything.

"How did you get all the way out here?"

Hearing his question Shaun gave an exasperated look and said, "landed via parachute after being sucked out of a plane from Unova by some Pokémon attacking it."

The cab driver just sighs and nods. "Yeah, it happens more than we like to admit around here, it's probably the Mandibuzz, they migrate this time of year between the regions and are vicious buggers."

"So could I get a lift to the Island over there, I don't have any water-capable Pokémon, and I don't want to try my luck at not angering another pack of Pokémon."

The cab driver just waves his hands towards the taxi and his large flying Pokémon manning it since on the top of the taxi is a perching bar for it to grip with.

Shaun simply Balls Eris and Himiko before boarding the taxi, the air taxi driver get in the cab as well and slaps the side of the cage.

The grass on the island starts to flatten as the flying type Pokémon starts to flap its wings generating a great updraft which after a few moments causes the cab to become airborne under the strength of the Avian Pokémon.

Shaun lounges in the passenger compartment by propping his head up with his arm against the railing. The sight of open water is ever-present, but before the flying Pokémon sets off into the sky, He releases Eris again inside of the cab on his shoulder.

[Was it really necessary to put me in that ball if you were just gonna call me back out?]

Whispering to her he speaks. "Yeah, sorry about that but I realized you might want to have a last look at your island before we go."

Hearing this Eris huffs as if it wasn't required but regardless she turns on my shoulder and looks around at her home one last time, her emotions are silent, but he simply smiles watching her.

Both of their thought processes are cut short as the Flying Pokémon finally starts to generate thrust sending the cab forward, gaining momentum until everyone is now moving in the air towards land.

The trip is mostly silent as we leave the island, all the while as they leave the small little green Applin doesn't turn away from the island behind the cab even as it gets smaller and smaller in sight as they fly away.

It doesn't take long for the air taxi to reach the larger land mass but what stumps Shaun is that the building he saw from a distance seemed to be some sort of travel station, the thought of it being a train station would be valid, but it just has another Air taxi cage and the large flying Pokémon present standing next to it tucking into some berries.

Once they all land Shaun addresses the Driver, "I forgot to ask but can you tell me where I am, it was hard to tell exactly from 10'000 feet, but I was travelling to Galar."

Hearing this he just nods before rubbing his chin. "Well technically you now reached the Galar region, but this is an island next to the Region, The Isle of Armor to be precise."

Hearing this Shaun's thoughts take on a new route of thought and all of them come back with one answer, 'Get the f*ck off the isle.'

Now his thought process was mainly because of the very active legendary presence on the isle, the Kubfu Line, While Shaun doesn't hate the line, he remembers the rules given to him so standing on an island which acts as the cradle for a legendary even if it's a non-metaphysical powerhouse like the gods might not be a wise idea.

The lack of a legendary presence in the region was a factor which made him choose to go to Galar, but not a major factor since he doesn't know if he even appears on their proverbial radar right now.

So, while trying to not seem desperate Shaun asks the Taxi driver, "So as a question, If I wanted to get to Galar from here, do I need to take your taxi or do I take a boat?"

The driver just walks over and pets one of the large flying Pokémon and pats it, the Pokémon in question preens at the attention. "Only my service, to be honest, there used to be a ferry but once a pod of Gyarados built a nest inbetween the region and the isle, water travel became too dangerous for both the passenger and Pokémon."

Shaun just nods his head in understanding, "Yeah giant water serpents with a proclivity to fire hyper beams at anything are a good reason to stick to air travel." the driver just laughs while still petting his Pokémon that after a closer look has a few scars in its armour.

"Well even for an experienced Cabbie like me and Rouge here, the trip is still dangerous since people usually forget Hyper beams are straight beams making it prime for long-range fire filling the air."

Hearing this Shaun sighs since he had a bad feeling, "Let me guess it costs an arm and a leg to pay for travel between the isle and Galar." at this the Cabbie has a cheeky grin and simply says, "Yep."

Shaun just groans, this proceeds to a haggling situation where even in a situation outside of his control the Cabbie would only lower his rates to a certain point, said point is still above his current funds but not by much.

Finally understanding he's stuck here until he can scrounge up the money or find the Entralink arch here, He doesn't want to backtrack all the way to Mistralton city, but he will if he needs to.

Starting his search upon the island he makes his way to the exit of the station but something in the corner of his eye catches his attention.

In an instant he quickly changes his direction towards a window leading into a darkened room of the station, what caught his attention though isn't some sort of Pokémon.

"Why the hell do I have white hair and red eyes?"

The Darkened window acted as a basic mirror reflecting Shaun's appearance back towards himself revealing while his physical appearance is the same as it appears in the card, he got from Cresselia, but his appearance is as if all the colour in his hair is drained, and his eyes are now a piercing crimson red.

Honestly, when he first saw his reflection for a moment, he thought he was seeing some sort of urban vampire, since his red and Black hoodie went well with the features but when he realized it was his own reflection, he just felt annoyance.

Honestly, he hates vampires so he's not a fan of the look but as he looks at himself more still not believing it, he feels a tug from his subconscious similar to when viewing his Pokémon's statistics.

He sighs before pulling on it like tugging on a string, then in his perception, he gets a similar Statistics but for himself.

Nature: Adaptive.]

Seeing his Status and the multitude of abilities he's both understanding and annoyed, like who would like to be Fate's Punching bag, but with its placement it just makes him think that was the case before I even got to this world.

He focused on the two abilities he didn't understand, and some information was given to him.

[Ability: Fate's Punching Bag.

Effect: Murphy's Law is constantly in effect around you, but fatal events won't happen on accident since Fate likes messing with you.]

[Ability: Albion.

Effect: The world classifies you as an abnormal outcast, but this role makes it so you can find other outcasts to lead them to a kingdom made of Dreams.]

Shaun is Silent understanding this, but it sort of clicks for him. 'So that must be why I met Himiko and Eris, if you think about it, I found Himiko in a random cave after my first step through the archway which could have placed me anywhere and going to Eris's Island was improbable since it was remote, it just worked out that way.'

Shaun Sighs before stepping out of the station to explore the Isle of Armor while trying to keep away from the Dojo, if possible, on an isle like this.
