Lune began circling twice, sweat on her forehead and goblet in hand, as the two watched her.
When she was done, she placed the goblet in front of the two, away from the food.
Though there was no humming, as the Daughter did at Blanc and Celine's betrothal ceremony, it didn't matter.
In a funny way, this felt more sacred than even that ceremony did.
Next, Celine placed a wooden box in front of Blanc, and Kael placed the sword in front of Miyanna.
Though Blanc couldn't see her facial expression, a gasp came from Miyanna's mouth as she laid eyes upon the curved sword Blanc prepared for her.
When Lune received a nod from Blanc that signaled she was doing well so far, she took from behind her two knives, which she placed in front of both of them.
Slowly, Blanc and Miyanna took the knives and faced each other.
Only then did Blanc see how nervous she really was.
Her eyes were wet with tears, her smile nonexistent as she bit her lips, trying to hold back a flood from escaping.
He smiled warmly at her as he offered her his right hand, which she accepted, before placing the blade on his palm and, in a quick motion, slicing it.
The next moment, she followed suit, offering her own right hand to be sliced, which Blanc spent no time in delaying.
As they brought the palms together over the goblet, allowing the blood from their wounds to spill inside it, Lune began reciting the Daughter's words she learned from Celine and Blanc.
"By the gift of blood, by the bond of soul,
By the beauty of the body, and the bond of a kiss.
By the strength of a family, and bound by generations.
By the Grace of the Vita and the Shattered Heavens,
You stand hand in hand before all.
Blood calls for blood. How will you answer?"
"I will," said Blanc and Miyanna in unison as the cup was filling with their blood.
There were no rubies on this gauntlet, yet it didn't matter.
To them, this was the same.
And as the gauntlet started spilling their blood, Lune continued.
"Then let your blood bind you.
Let your breath bless you.
Let your kiss crown you.
And let the Vita remember you, now and forever."
With that, they dipped their fingers in the blood, painted their lips crimson, and without hesitation, went for a kiss, which was followed by applause from the other three present.
The Betrothal Ceremony was now over.
Lune took the goblet full of blood and went and threw it down the toilet as Kael wiped the table off the blood that had spilled on it.
Celine came to the two just as Miyanna hugged Blanc, burying her head deep into his chest.
"You shouldn't have," Miyanna whispered, "When did you buy that?"
"Today," he smiled, as he hugged her back, "I'm sorry I couldn't put it in a box for you to see it only later, though."
"No," she shook her head, "This is the best day of my life, and seeing it now made the day even better."
"Well, this day gets only better from now on, fiancée," Blanc chuckled, as he took his hands off her. "Come now, we need to bandage the wounds before the next one starts."
With a nod from Miyanna, she let go of him.
"My love," said Blanc, offering his wounded hand to Celine.
"I barely remember ours, but I remember your sister's," Celine giggled as she started bandaging his palm, "But this was way cuter."
"That horned bastard does not deserve my sister," Blanc replied, angry at the memory of Aidan of Blood Seraph.
"I wonder how she is, though," Celine muttered as she tied the bandage on his hand.
"Hopefully well, otherwise I will hang him by the horns," Blanc replied as he made way for Celine to help Miyanna as well.
"How is Blanc's older sister?" asked Miyanna, a bit calmer now that the first ceremony was over.
"Annoying," replied Blanc, and the twins in unison at her question, which took the two women aback.
But giggling as she mended Miyanna's wound, Celine had another opinion, "She is wonderful. I did not get to talk too much with her before she left, but she cared deeply for Blanc, though she didn't show it directly."
"But if you find her annoying, why say you will hang that 'horned bastard'?" Miyanna asked, not knowing certainly what horned meant in this situation.
"She is my older sister, and I love her, annoying as she is. And that small, horned bastard acted as if he owned her after they just barely got engaged," Blanc sighed.
"When you say horns…" Miyanna muttered, but Celine was the one who replied to her in a whisper.
"He has a pair of horns sticking out of his forehead, just like his mother," she said as she tied a knot on Miyanna's hand.
Miyanna was unable to imagine how that looked, but didn't press further as Lune spoke next.
"Ready for the marriage?" she asked the three.
"Shall I give you the gifts now, or after the ceremony?" Blanc asked.
"There are more?" Miyanna muttered.
"Keep them for after the ceremony," Celine giggled, "We have gifts for you too."
"Why did you go so far as to buy things for me?" Blanc asked, "I am getting married to you two, what could possibly make for a better gift?"
While the words Blanc spoke managed to crimson the two women's cheeks, it only annoyed the twins.
"Keep those for later, brother," Lune said, "I'm getting hungry."
With Kael nodding along, Blanc sighed before turning towards the two.
"Wives, are you ready?"
Celine turned her head to Miyanna before replying, "Ready as we'll ever be, Husband."
With confirmation, they quietly turned back towards the table, staring at Lune, who waited impatiently, watching the tree get in position.
Miyanna on the left, Blanc in the middle, and Celine on the right.
The homemade marriage ceremony for the three Beleel Denegis Miyanna, Blanc of Blood Denegis, and Celine of Blood Maroux was soon to be underway.
