Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Once again, Ozpin invited me to his office. This time, it is a talk about my new invention. This time, the General wants to talk about this invention. It took me a few minutes to explain to him the function of the Omni-Tool and the reason why he needed it.

"And what about this Medi-Gel? How much will it cost us?"

"If you decide to buy the Omni-Tool in bulk, I will let you buy the Medi-Gel for 20 Lien per dose of 500 milligrams."

"Can you increase the dose in each Omni-Tool?"

"I can do that. However, the Medi-Gel inside the Omni-Tool is used for emergencies because 500 milligrams is enough to heal a severe injury. You can use the rest of them for a specialized unit that carries a larger amount of Medi-Gel. To increase the amount of Medi-Gel inside an Omni-tool, I need to reduce the performance of other things. Maybe I can increase the capacity in the future, but for now, it is 500 milligrams."

Well, it is a lie. I can increase the capacity, but I need to hold them back so I can sell the upgraded version in the future.

General Ironwood nods his head and says.

"How many of them can you make?"

"I can push the production to a maximum of 10 tons a day."

"10 tens?! And you only need 500 milligrams to heal severe wounds?"

"I know, right?"

I ignore the others who shake their heads and watch General Ironwood lean forward.

"Can you give me a discount? I will buy 100 kilograms of them if the test comes back positive."

I think for a few seconds and say.

"I can give you a 95% discount if you are willing to sign a contract saying that you will keep buying at least 125 kilograms or 250,000 doses every month for the next 3 years."

I know that a military contract requires a short amount of time to test in the lab and field. I can increase the price when they see that it is very valuable to their soldiers. Not a lot, but good enough to fill my pocket.

As for the number… This is because the population of Remnant is tiny compared to that of Earth. The world's population is under 100 million souls. Yeah. Grimm fuck this world hard. When too many people are in a single city, Grimm will attack in a massive wave. Grimm is the reason why this world does not have enough growth.

Even when there is growth, feeding them all will be hard because, once again, Grimm. Attacking the farm outside the city and killing anyone who is working on the farm. Creating a new farm for a city requires a lot of money and manpower that they don't have.

With this contract, each month will cost them 250,000 Lien or 3,000,000 Lien annually. That is the price after the discount. Without the discount, it will cost them 5,000,000 Lien each month. Maybe I will increase the price or reduce the discount after the first 3 years of the contract.

"250,000 doses, huh?"

I can see his mind working overtime, and after a few seconds, he nods his head and says.

"Very well. We have an agreement. We will test the medi-gel and make the contract when the test comes back positive."

Ironwood offers his hand, and I give him a firm handshake. Ozpin looks at me and says,

"May I have the same deal, Orin?"

"Are you sure? That is a lot of order, you know?"

Ozpin gives me a deadpan expression and says,

"You don't know how many injuries hunters can get even when they are training. I might not be able to use all of them at once, but I know we can consume half of those in a month."

"Well, it is your money. I will send the batch along with the food."

"I understand. When the testing is done, I will send the contract."

I shake his hands and leave the office. Six million Lien annually is good money. It will be a good foundation for my company. What? I need to hire people for my company. Even though I can create more VI or even AIs as workers for my company, it is not good in the long run.

At least, when I go full AI, it will be bad. People will see me as someone who does not want to hire his fellow Faunus and would rather pick robots than them. It will create discontent and riots. It will be bad for Kuo Kuana and my company.

Anyway, we returned to the airship, and after a few minutes, we returned to Kuo Kuana. I let Alice handle the ship while I finished the Anti-Radiation project. I only need a few more modifications, and the nanites will be ready.

"Father… What is this?"

"This, Alice, is the [Marketplace]. The place where multiple universes meet each other and make some trade. This is where I get some of the exotic material I need to build you."

"How? How can this place exist? Is it using the Phase-technology? No… It is more of a warp-based technology… Even then…"

There she goes, lost in her mind. I let her be and walk to the Waifu Catalog stall, where I see Julia behind the stall.

"Welcome back, my lord. How can I help you?"

"Ah, I come here to sell you the item you want me to make."

"Oh! You are done with the Anti-Radiation tech."

"That's right."

I take out the massive machine from my inventory and put it on the table.

"This is Nanites Dispenser. Place this bad boy in the middle of the radiated area, and it will spray a mist of nanites that self-replicate as long as there is radiation to eat."

"What happens when there is no more radiation?"

"They will die. They will eat all the radiation in the air, land, and water. As long as there is radiation, they will eat them."

"I see. Let's see the price, and we will pay you."

With a wave of her hand, a panel appears in front of us.

|Market Price: 1,200|

"How can the difference between this and the fabricator be this big?"

"Ah, that is easy. Your fabricator is a marvel of technology. It can create anything from any matter you feed it. The only downside is the massive energy consumption. If you can change the energy consumption by half, it will be even more expensive."

"I see."

And this machine only contains nanites that eat radiation. It is great, but not as good as Fabricator.

"Do you want us to pay it through Market Points or Company Points, my lord?"

"Company point, please."

"Of course. That means, you will get 300 points and it should arrive… now."

I summon my phone and see a notification. The points have arrived, and I can spend more points on my build.

"It is a pleasure to do business with you."

"It is our pleasure, my lord. However, before you go, the company wants to know if you can make a large batch of weapons."

"I don't mind. How powerful?"

"Something powerful but easy to make. The higher-ups want something like a blaster pistol."

"I can make that. I can make the Star Wars blaster pistol if you want."

"That would be perfect because we managed to negotiate a Star Wars world, and we need something to arm the agents and workers in that place."

"How much do you want?"

"120 of them with the same price as the anti-radiation nanites."

"Quarter of the Market Price, got it. What about other anti-radiation nanites?"

"We will test it first, and when we are satisfied, we will order more."

"Gocha. Anyway, my daughter and I need to continue shopping. In fact, show us what is in stock here."
