She was like a lamb fallen into a pack of wolves, clinging tightly to her only guardian, shivering and bewildered.
James Mason naturally enjoyed the feeling of being relied upon by her. Like showing off his beloved, beautiful toy, he walked with Iris Harris through the luxurious hotel lobby, joking casually with the guests who came to chat with him.
Iris Harris's face was somewhat pale. Her body was actually no longer able to move and needed rest, but James wanted her to accompany him. She couldn't refuse and could only go out with him.
"Are you tired?"
James's gaze fell on her face, which was faintly covered in cold sweat. His eyes darkened slightly, and he lowered his head to plant a tender kiss on her forehead, then turned to the figure behind him and said, "Take Iris upstairs to the room."
"Yes, young master."
Elaine, dressed in a black evening gown, stepped forward and respectfully supported the slightly weakened Iris Harris as she guided her upstairs.
