Iris Harris held that ring, momentarily speechless.
James Mason said softly, "It's late, you should go back to sleep early."
Iris stood there stunned, she looked at James for a moment, then slowly turned to leave.
James watched her back, his eyes slightly darkening.
Her fondness for him was merely a child's affection.
Yet, even so, he could see that her heart had already been occupied by another man.
Even though she had returned to him, even though she chose to be by his side, something had changed.
Ten years ago, Iris Harris only had him in her heart.
But now…
James squinted slightly, a trace of gloom appearing in his smile.
It's something he couldn't tolerate.
What he wanted was the Iris Harris whose heart and eyes were exclusively his.
Not the current Iris Harris, who was already "unclean."
