Steven Cooper nervously lowered his hand holding the engagement ring, both hands clenched tightly together, his gaze deeply fixed on Nicole.
His actions caught Nicole's eye. She pressed her lips together and gave a faint smile, "Tonight is our engagement party, so many people are watching. Brother Cooper, put the ring on for me. I don't want to care about other people's matters, and I don't want anything else to delay our engagement."
Nicole hadn't forgotten the lonely figure of Steven standing by the window, nor the way his eyes shone like stars when she appeared.
She believed she no longer owed Jose anything; the two massive hemorrhages had already repaid everything from those five years. And Steven had always loved her silently, so much so that even a small smile from her could warm him for half a day.
