Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Right now! Immediately! Disappear from my sight!

"Ariel Morris, you'd better stop bothering me!"

"Ariel Morris, you should be grateful for my magnanimity. I haven't made things worse for the Morris Clan in such a crisis!"

"So, Ariel Morris, you'd better keep your distance, or the Morris Clan will face an accelerated bankruptcy!"

"Ariel Morris, there's no one in this world who wants the Morris Clan to go bankrupt more than I do!"

After he finished speaking, Arlo Seys released her chin and tossed the documents back into Ariel Morris's hands. The disdain in his eyes was undisguised, as if looking at Ariel for another second made him sick, and he turned to leave.

The coldness from his fingertips chilled Ariel Morris's heart, and his biting words sent a shiver down her spine.

It took Ariel Morris several seconds to recover, and she chased after the long-striding Arlo Seys in her high heels.

"President Seys! Please reconsider! President Seys!"

Ariel Morris blocked Arlo Seys's path, her tone pleading.

Arlo Seys remained unmoved, his icy face showing no reaction, not even a single expression to Ariel Morris.

Ariel's nose ached, and the corners of her eyes stung. She looked at Arlo Seys, holding back tears, her voice raspy pleading, "President Seys, could you, for the sake of our past... familiar acquaintance, help me?"

Upon hearing these words, Arlo Seys's expression finally changed. Compared to the previous indifference and coldness, his face now brimmed with sarcasm. He turned to look at Ariel Morris, his eyes deepening in disgust, his tone as cold as ice: "Ariel Morris, disappear from my sight immediately! If you're a second late, I guarantee that within a week, the Morris Clan will be history!"

Ariel Morris was startled by the cold aura he exuded, feeling the temperature around her drop significantly, making her fingertips tremble from the chill.

Her fingers hung weakly by her side, her lips pressed tightly together, and her clear eyes were covered with a thin mist, staring straight at Arlo Seys. She didn't dare to move, didn't dare to blink, for fear that the tears she was holding back would fall.

Arlo Seys coldly met her gaze, confronted her misty eyes, and remained unmoved, brushing past Ariel Morris as he walked away.

Ariel Morris was lightly bumped by Arlo Seys, not with much force, but it hurt her so much she couldn't speak. The hand holding the documents suddenly slackened, and all the files and papers scattered at her feet.

Ariel Morris didn't turn to look at Arlo Seys's departing back.

Neither did Arlo Seys look back at Ariel Morris.

In this life, they met unexpectedly, on a narrow path.

And it ended in an unpleasant way, heartbreaking.

Ariel Morris bit her lower lip stubbornly, forcing back the tears that were about to fall. She squatted down, slowly and steadily gathering up the papers scattered on the ground.

A set of fair and slender fingers picked up a few sheets of paper and handed them to her. Ariel Morris was about to utter her thanks when she looked up at the person in front of her and the words caught in her throat.

"Ariel, long time no see." Dawn Sutherland's gentle smile spread slightly, smiling faintly at Ariel Morris.

Ariel Morris picked up the documents, softly calling out to Dawn Sutherland, "Brother Dawn." When she saw another person standing behind Dawn Sutherland, she lowered her gaze again, striving to maintain her composure as she greeted, "Nico Haynes."

Dawn Sutherland, Nico Haynes, Arlo Seys, among the handful of close friends.

Once, she was also close with them.

Nico Haynes and Dawn Sutherland, arriving in a later elevator than Arlo Seys, entered the underground parking lot two minutes after him. As Arlo Seys and Ariel Morris met and faced each other, they emerged from the elevator.

Originally, when Nico Haynes saw Ariel Morris, he nearly cried out in surprise, but fortunately, the quick-eyed Dawn Sutherland swiftly covered his mouth, preventing any interruption of the two's gaze.

Seeing Ariel Morris again, Nico Haynes was not only surprised but also carried a complex expression in his eyes. He stared at Ariel Morris for a good while before coming to his senses, still carrying disbelief in his voice: "Ariel Morris?"

Ariel Morris responded with a gentle "mm" as acknowledgment.

Nico Haynes pressed his lips together, "You... why have you returned to the country?"
