Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A Narrow Encounter in This Life

Arlo Seys stood in place for a long time before unconsciously returning to the private room.

He lingered in the room for a few minutes, then irritably picked up the car keys from the coffee table, said to everyone, "I'm leaving, put the bill on my tab," and swiftly exited the room.

"Boss, wait for me and Dawn Sutherland!" Nico Haynes noticed something off about him, grabbed his car keys, and hurried out after him.

Dawn Sutherland didn't hesitate, leaving everyone in the room behind, and quickly followed Nico Haynes to catch up with Arlo Seys.

Arlo Seys dazedly entered the elevator, then pressed the button for the underground parking lot on the basement floor of Royal One.

Nico Haynes and Dawn Sutherland, who rushed out right after, arrived just as the elevator doors were closing, so they had no choice but to impatiently wait for another elevator.

Arlo Seys reached the underground parking lot, and although he hadn't drunk much, his head ached severely. He frowned, massaged his temples, and walked towards his car.

"The cooperation with Rivermark fell through... I'll do my best... After this is over, I'll return overseas and never come back. This is the last time I'm helping you, consider it my debt repayment..."

Arlo Seys's hand pressed on the car remote trembled fiercely, and his heart skipped a beat! The third time now...

Today was already the third time he'd heard this voice!

Ariel Morris! Can't you just stop? Always hovering in front of him!

His headache inexplicably intensified...

Following the sound, Arlo Seys looked over and saw a person standing next to a red Porsche parked not far away.

Perhaps his gaze was too cold and piercing, as Ariel Morris, just after hanging up her call, felt a pair of eyes watching her and turned to look...

Her eyes were filled with his image.

The past, what used to be, remained unchanged, always so similar.

Arlo Seys.

This life, meeting again on a narrow path, should turn out to be this kind of scene.

Ariel Morris had never thought that seeing this person again after eight years would be so unexpected.

Arlo Seys.

The memories she dared not touch appeared directly in her sight.

His tall frame, tightly pressed thin lips, and impeccably carved facial features left a lasting impression at a glance. He just stood there, exuding an unparalleled aura, his deep gaze as cold as the pools of the Celestial Mountains.

Ariel Morris stood frozen in place, her fingernails digging deeply into the lines of her palm.

Arlo Seys hadn't expected her to suddenly turn around. He gazed at her, and her gaze met his.

Just like that, without any warning, they encountered each other's eyes.

His eyes were cold, carrying a chill.

Hers held surprise, mixed with panic.

Arlo Seys's gaze remained icy, but his expression didn't change by a fraction as he withdrew his sight, calmly pressed the car key, and opened the car door to get in.

He started the car, pressed the accelerator, completing the actions seamlessly.

The vehicle drove towards Ariel Morris.

Arlo Seys looked straight ahead. Although Ariel Morris stood right in front on the right, she felt as if his eyes had never seen her, not even giving her a sidelong glance.

Schedule an appointment with Nico Haynes at Era Enterprises for me.

Ariel Morris's mind suddenly recalled the instructions she gave to her secretary, Vera.

The scheduling queue was uncertain, and whether Arlo Seys would agree to see her was also unknown. However, now was clearly a good opportunity! How could she let it pass?

Hopeful light shone in Ariel Morris's eyes as she watched the oncoming vehicle, quickly stepping forward a few steps to block the passageway.

Arlo Seys exerted all his effort to restrain himself from looking to the front right, staying composed and poised, intending to disregard this encounter and brush past.

"Screech!... Boom!"

Suddenly, a figure dashed into the passage in front, and Arlo Seys swiftly turned the steering wheel in an emergency turn. Yet, due to extreme tension, he mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes, slamming into the parking lot wall with a bang.

The ups and downs in the business world over the years had cultivated his calm and composed demeanor. However, at this moment, he felt an uncontrollable fiery anger raging within him, ready to burst forth.

Arlo Seys stepped out with a frosty expression, slammed the car door shut. Moving toward Ariel Morris with regal grace, the words he uttered, however, betrayed his agitation: "Are you f---in' looking for death?!"
