As Irene thought of this, the weak smile on her lips became more evident.
"Well, I really should properly thank Sister Sophie." She lifted her gaze, her voice somewhat bitter and frail.
Irene suddenly felt little desire to continue talking; she lay down on the bed, pulling the quilt over her head, "Brother Asher, I'm a bit tired."
Asher Land acknowledged softly and, without further interruption, turned and walked out of the room, gently closing the door behind him.
Irene's body curled up in the bed, her hand gripping the corner of the quilt tightly.
