Sophie looked up somewhat surprised; she couldn't fathom Asher Land's emotions at the moment. Maybe he was angry, but he was still trying hard to restrain himself, not letting himself lose his temper.
"Asher Land..." she called his name cautiously, her words carrying a hint of appeasement.
"I'm not pushing you to other women; I just hope that during this period, you can help Irene recuperate a bit. If not for her this time... I'm afraid I would have been assaulted, raped, and..."
