Ji-a pushed open the door of the bar, needing to let off some steam after the family meeting fell through. The satisfaction of her plan's success deserved a celebration.
"Two drinks to go," she told the bartender, settling onto a stool.
As she waited, her eyes caught sight of Tae Joon sitting at the other end of the counter. The moment he noticed her, his entire body tensed, and he immediately turned to leave.
"Leaving so soon?" Ji-a called out, her voice playful. "Stay. Have a drink with me."
Tae Joon glared at her, but Ji-a only smiled wider.
"I'm sorry for last time," she said, patting the empty stool beside her. "I'll treat you today."
Tae Joon remained standing, his expression guarded.
"Besides," Ji-a added, "I have good news for you."
"Good news?" Tae Joon scoffed bitterly. "What good news could you possibly have for me? Because of you, Na-ri dumped me and got engaged to another man."
