Chapter 302 - The Quiet Ascendant Appears

For a moment, both sides faced each other in silence. When Fei'er Li noticed the girl's gaze and the attention of unknown powers similar to Magic and Mental Power drifting toward her two students, she swallowed and stepped forward. "Hello, miss. Thank you very much for your help. May I ask your name? Another day, if you do not mind, we would like to visit and thank you properly."

Her cautious inquiry was answered, as the glowing eyes like clear glass turned toward her. "No need for courtesy, Professor Fei'er Li Li. Your papers on the compilation of basic Magic courses are quite interesting. I have read them several times."

Hearing her own name made Fei'er Li break into a sweat, but then she realized that this person knew her position and her work. That meant she was not some unknown hermit who had just emerged. "I am Lilith. Like you, I once held a professor's title at the royal Magic the Academy of the Paraten Empire. I did not teach many classes, but your name stuck with me because of those papers."

"I am honored," Fei'er Li said. She finally remembered seeing this person long ago, not in person but in journals and photos. This was someone who made even Ascendant Hall-level principals bow and see her off, clearly at least Crown Ascension.

Up close, though, Fei'er Li could not sense her true strength. Still, she relaxed a little, since the other party showed no malice. "Well then, hello, Professor Lilith. I am currently leading my two students and an assistant on a study trip. May I ask why you are here?"

"I was entrusted by someone to handle a few matters," Lilith replied calmly. "I happened to see a disgusting ant nest and dug it out and dealt with it along the way."

Casually excavating an underground Abyss Church base that had spread who knew how far, and crushing the Evil God projection inside, did not quite match her relaxed tone. In truth, she had come near the Holy City area only because of an enthusiastic request from Ham, who promised she would encounter something interesting.

After staying in the Floating City for too long, it was good to take a walk, and indeed she had run into interesting things. A very rare elemental Elves was here, as well as a sapling she had once seen in the Elven Homeland. There was also the child who had obtained a heart.

Any one of them alone would be interesting, and seeing them all together was worth a visit. If she had to say, she was also quite interested in Professor Fei'er Li. Her papers were solid and well argued, with novel viewpoints that had drawn Lilith's attention, especially after Bella analyzed them and noted similarities with stored data.

Across the entire The Continent, only two people fit that pattern. Still, Lilith did not understand why the elemental Elves beside her kept staring. After a moment, she turned to Fei'er Li and asked, "May I go see Luna?"

"Ah?" "There is no need to be surprised. I met that child when she was very young, and I have visited the Elven Homeland. You do not need to worry that I will harm you."

"Oh, then of course. Please come this way, our camp is over there." Though surprised, Fei'er Li accepted it easily enough. Given this person's status, knowing unusual figures from long ago was not strange at all.

"Oh… it is Lilith sister!"

While eating skewers, Luna saw a meteor fall in the distance and turn into three figures. They were a teacher, an assistant, and Lilith holding a Crystal Magic Staff. Especially Lilith, there was no mistake, that appearance and that aura were exactly the same as before, and that sense of being the same kind was something she could never misread.

She wanted to rush over for a hug, but she had just finished eating skewers. Pepper was still at the corner of her mouth, and her White Tier clean little hands were greasy, so she could only give up the idea.

"Long time no see, Luna… looks like you have grown quite well."

Lilith entered the camp, but her feet never touched the ground, using gravity to support her movement. As for the gravity ability, she discovered it one day when she tried to get coffee, and the cup flew out by itself and hit her on the forehead. Her eyes literally brightened a little as she naturally caught the strange magnetic field radiating from the other party.

Without making a sound, she had already fed the data into the Magic Staff in her hand. Through the built-in miniature Nanometal circuits, it calculated and analyzed rapidly, and Lilith could confirm that the girl was indeed affected, just like herself.

A certain domain from World Tree itself, mixed with Magic and magnetic fields, formed an extremely special field around Luna's body. It was quietly changing everything around her. With just a simple curl of her finger, the plants and grass at Luna's feet reacted slightly, and it seemed the situation was not too serious and would recover after leaving the field for a while.

The first target observation was done, and she turned her head to look at Nefit nearby. Nefit still did not know what was happening and was busy swallowing the food in her mouth. As expected, there was the same activated special magnetic field, the Magic aura around her, and most importantly, the heart inside.

Overall, it should not have much impact on ecological changes around her. It was more about physical indicators, with things like heart rate and blood pressure being rather high. Lilith's gaze swept past the faint black threads beside the girl's face, and she also touched her own smooth hair that always glowed like an LED whenever she used it.

She took one last look at the Ice Spirit who had been avoiding her for no clear reason. As expected, although the changes on that one were quite subtle, a magnetic field effect also appeared around it. Lilith looked around the camp, and among these four, three actually shared some common traits.

"Looks like I came at the right time."

"Huh? What do you mean by right time? And who are you, sister?"

Nefit finally swallowed her food and asked out of curiosity. She always felt there was something about this person, something similar to Luna, with a strange sense of attraction.

"Nefit, this is Lilith, she just—"

"No need, I will do it."

Lilith took the initiative to move closer. "I am Lilith. Just call me by my name. I am a passing Witch, that is all. I happened to pass by here, and I knew Luna before."

"I have not seen Luna for quite a few years. I never had time to go to Elven Homeland, so I did not expect to meet her here."

"Oh, so that is how it is!"

Of course, that was not the real reason.

The real reason she came at the right time was that Lilith felt she should clean up after a certain dragon. This was actually something Ham had said, that with the current Belial, whatever he touched might carry a bit of "His" essence.

Lilith naturally thought of what she had seen in those videos. That terrifying Crystal ecology that could even corrode the Crimson God Divine Kingdom, if it regrew along that part of Belial's essence and spread unchecked, would definitely cause a lot of trouble.

In an emergency, they could call Belial over to handle it. But that was not a real solution, and if he casually ate a few unlucky bystanders and passed the revival time limit, it would become a problem. So it turned into outsourced work.

Before going to sleep, Belial finally remembered this matter and entrusted it to Bella. Bella was busy building an observation station and passed it to Ham, who thought it over and then passed it to Lilith. Lilith felt that a full three hundred sixty degree backflip into a dramatic landing was a bit too shocking, so she simply came to take a look, and there were other reasons as well.

First, that old man Safas was currently running all over the entire World, cleaning up the mess caused by that howl from The End. Second, just as Ham said, these people really did seem to have some connection to Lilith. She narrowed her eyes, wondering if they all carried traces of Belial.

"You two come here. I will give you a little gift, just some small preparations."

"Oh, okay."

"Since Luna says so, I will come too."

Luna felt no malice from her and knew she would not be harmed, so she agreed readily. Nefit shared Luna's feeling and also agreed happily, since if Luna said so, it could not be anything bad.

Then both of them were equally hit on the forehead with two taps. Well, not really hits, just a light touch with the Magic Staff. In that instant, a large number of iron-rich stones flew up from nowhere, raising a burst of air that ruined the barbecue, and the two of them actually floated into the air.

They landed again very quickly, the whole process coming and going in a flash. The only difference was the change on them now. Luna directly showed the Holy Tree pattern on her forehead that only appeared when she got serious, while Nefit had black markings like scars appear beside her cheek.
