In the movie, the balance of the battle gradually begins to break.
Gilgamesh, though initially intrigued by the aerial chase against Berserker, soon grows bored of the repetitive exchange of Noble Phantasms and missiles. The novelty wears off, and his interest fades.
Meanwhile, the battle between Tokiomi Tohsaka and Kariya Matou reaches its conclusion.
Tokiomi barely even launches any attacks, while Kariya is already on the verge of death. Simply activating his magic circuits causes all his capillaries to rupture, blood spraying everywhere as he collapses in a near-unconscious state. In the end, Tokiomi calmly incinerates Kariya with a single blast of fire, reducing him to a scorched, lifeless heap rolling into a back alley.
On the front lines, Iskandar, in a desperate move to halt Caster's advance, forcefully activates his Reality Marble and drags the massive sea demon into it. Though it doesn't kill the beast, it successfully delays its progress into the city.
On the coast, Saber, Lancer, and Rider gather to discuss how to eliminate the massive sea demon.
Just then, a communicator on Irisviel's body begins to buzz.
"Is Rider's Master there? I have something to say."
Hearing Kiritsugu Emiya's voice, Waver is startled and quickly responds:
"W-Who are you?"
"That's not important. Tell me—when Rider disengages his Reality Marble, can he drop whatever's inside to a specific location?"
"Well, there's a limited range... I think maybe within a hundred meters radius? But yeah, it should be possible."
"Good. I'll fire a signal flare soon—drop Caster directly beneath it. Got it?"
"Y-Yeah, I think so… probably…"
Waver's uncertainty irritates Kiritsugu on the other end of the line. His voice grows impatient.
"One more thing. Pass a message to Lancer—tell him that Saber's left hand holds an anti-fortress-level Noble Phantasm."
"Huh?"
Waver is visibly confused by the strange message. Diarmui notices his expression and asks:
"What is it?"
"He said to tell you… Saber's left hand has an anti-fortress Noble Phantasm or something like that!"
"What?"
Diarmuid freezes in shock.
"Is that true, Saber?"
"Yes," Artoria replies.
Seeing Diarmuid's hesitation, Saber hurriedly adds, slightly flustered:
"Lancer, the weight of my sword is the weight of my honor. The wound I received from our duel is a mark of that honor—not a burden."
"Saber, I cannot forgive that Caster. He takes pride in spreading despair and takes joy in terror. Before I became a knight, I swore an oath—never to let evil run unchecked!"
"Lancer, you…"
"Is this a battle Saber or Lancer must win? No—it isn't. The one that must prevail here… is the chivalry we both believe in. Am I wrong, Artoria!?"
With those words, Diarmuid decisively snaps his cursed yellow spear in two. The curse binding Saber's left hand vanishes immediately.
The scene stuns everyone present. Even the audience in the theater is left in stunned silence.
. . . . . .
"Diarmuid is way too noble—did he really have to go that far?"
"That knightly spirit... damn, that was actually pretty cool!"
"But as a participant in the Holy Grail War, Lancer's group gains absolutely nothing from doing this."
"If Kayneth finds out, he'll probably go ballistic."
"But at least now we'll finally get to see Saber's true Noble Phantasm!"
Immediately, the audience burst into discussion—everyone was eager to find out just what kind of Noble Phantasm Artoria had that was said to be capable of destroying an entire fortress.
After all, in this world, fortresses are a real thing—everybody knows how hard it is to break through one. With magical barriers in place, even a Tier 5 high-level spell might not be enough to breach a city.
Saber's Noble Phantasm was said to be anti-fortress level. Surely, it would defy everyone's imagination.
Even the mages were anxiously anticipating how Artoria would defeat that massive sea demon. According to their calculations, wiping out a monster of that scale in a single blow would require, at minimum, a Tier 6 spell.
That level of destructive force wasn't just difficult for Saber to unleash in the film—it was a huge challenge just to film something of that scale.
After all, Edward's production team didn't have an Arch Mage helping them.
Edward himself was just a Grand Mage. How was he going to capture a scene like that on camera?
"I bet Senior Edward's just gonna fake it and call it a day. I mean, forbidden spells are hard enough to cast in real life—no way they'd go that far for a movie."
"Right? I already don't know how they managed to make the giant sea demon look so realistic. If they really go on to show a full-on forbidden spell… that'd be insane."
"Maybe it'll be some sort of holy light magic? That stuff tends to look super flashy, even if it's not that powerful—it's perfect for movies."
"Could be. I'm just more curious about the plot. Like, how is Saber—who's just a knight—going to launch an attack powerful enough to wipe out that sea demon in one shot? Does she have a Reality Marble like Rider?"
"Who knows? Fate/Zero's Noble Phantasm system is pretty confusing anyway. I mean, the fact that Caster could summon a beast that huge was already unexpected. And those two flying through the sky? Ridiculous. Not to mention Rider's Ionian Hetairoi. At this point, even if Saber fires off some massive laser and insta-kills the sea demon, I wouldn't even be surprised."
"Either way, let's just wait and see what the movie has in store."
And soon, just as everyone was eagerly anticipating, the now-unsealed Artoria finally unleashed her true power.
As the Invisible Air barrier dispersed, the golden sword revealed itself amid a roaring gale.
Amid the astonished gasps of those around her, Artoria gripped her glowing sword and charged straight toward the ocean.
However, just at that moment—Berserker, who had previously been chasing Gilgamesh through the skies, suddenly let out a crazed roar and dove straight toward Artoria.
"RAAAAAAAHHHH!!"
Berserker howled with rage and malice, launching an all-out attack against Artoria.
Seeing this, Gilgamesh became furious. Enraged that the mongrel he had scorned would ignore him, he immediately turned to engage Berserker himself—only to be shot down by the missiles Berserker launched in his frenzy.
Seeing this, Diarmuid immediately shouted:
"Let me stop him!"
In the blink of an eye, Diarmuid spirit-shifted and appeared precisely atop the steel wing of the fighter jet. With his anti-magic red spear, Gáe Dearg, he struck the transformed aircraft-like body of Berserker.
The red spear, known for severing magical energy circuits, flashed—and Berserker plummeted from the aircraft.
Even as he fell, Berserker still tried to attack Artoria. But at that moment, countless Noble Phantasms rained in from afar—Gilgamesh unleashed a fierce barrage, completely blasting Berserker out of the sky.
"Very well, Saber. Let me see it for myself. I, the king, shall judge the worth of your brilliance as a Heroic Spirit."
Gilgamesh stood arrogantly atop the arch of the Fuyuki Bridge, wearing a twisted, lascivious smile.
Artoria responded only with a cold, emotionless expression.
She knew clearly—this was the moment of the final showdown.
Before long, Kiritsugu Emiya fired a flare into the sky from a lifeboat on the water.
Seeing the signal, Waver shouted to one of Rider's messengers:
"There! Right beneath the flare!"
In that instant, Rider's Ionian Hetairoi was released. The massive sea demon, once a mirage in the night sky, took on full physical form and crashed heavily into the ocean.
As soon as Artoria saw this, she channeled all her strength into both arms gripping her sword and raised the golden blade high above her head.
Light began to gather—converging into a dazzling beam.
Under that intense, pure radiance, everyone was left speechless.
Standing atop the surface of the sea, Artoria swung her golden sword and shouted:
"Ex—calibur!"
A blinding torrent of light surged forward. Like an unstoppable force splitting the ocean itself, the blast spiraled into a massive vortex, devouring both the sea demon and the dark night sky.
Deep within the sea demon, Gilles de Rais stared blankly at the overwhelming brilliance in front of him. For a moment, his entire being—body and soul—was consumed by the light.
That vivid radiance dragged Gilles back to distant memories.
He had once been a knight too. And during that ceremony long ago, the first time he saw that young girl standing within the church… he had seen a light just like this.
"Ah… Yes! It's this light!"
A single tear rolled down Gilles' cheek. At that moment, his expression turned hollow, as if overcome by an irretrievable sense of loss.
"I… what have I…"
His final words, filled with regret, were never spoken. The radiant light engulfed both him and the sea demon, carrying them to another world.
. . . . . .
"That was insane!"
"What was that?!"
"That sword strike—it split the sea open!"
"Caster's probably fried!"
"Saber is so cool!"
The explosive climax onscreen sent the audience into a frenzy.
Whether it was the unbelievable Noble Phantasm Artoria unleashed, or Gilles de Rais' heartbreaking final memory, the entire theater was left in awe.
No one had expected that even this late into the Holy Grail War, the story could still deliver such a jaw-dropping moment that shook everyone to the core.
Honestly, this one scene—Saber's sword of divine light obliterating a demonic god—was already worth the price of admission.
