Chapter 10 - Episode 9- Not so Prince Charming

De walked out from a barracks a can being chucked at him as he does and he rolled his eyes before barking out a slur. De was stopped suddenly by a shorter man with a glorious mustache.

"Demonio! We need you on the rounds again!"

"Sir, I've just returned from filling in for that no good Yugio!"

"Should have thought of that before taking his jobs on, Zorro Yugio is a good worker and he has left to help at that silly circus, Yugio's own."

De was here for only one reason. To wait for Fumar. Over the past three years maybe four now De had slowly lost his past. He went to the town doctor and they called it some fancy name but to keep it easy, De had shut out bad memories and as a result had cost him his memory of most things over the years. Even his name…

He remembered the night he had to leave. Clutching a white carnation in a flower pot with Fumar stood at the other side with a look of desperation.

"Please, stay! We can keep you safe and out of the way." He pleaded and De looked behind him to the gates. Fumar pulled his face back to him and De sighed.

"Fumar, if I stay I will put you in danger." He said Fumar couldn't speak; he stared simply helpless to tell him he was wrong. 'You know I'm not wrong.'

De placed the flower in his hands, "Make sure this gets to Marie. It's hers now. I know you can do it. You were always amazing at finding me in this city." With that he turned and Fumar felt his chest ache and breath faster as he looked at this solitary flower and he saw love and dedication in every petal. De's love and dedication to a woman Fumar only met for a second. It felt like a stab wound.

Before Fumar could speak, De opened his wings and flew off. "No… Please! Come back." He yelled and tried to desperately open his own wings but shattered and gruesome stumps formed no longer than his head and he almost dropped the flower in his own helplessness. "Go to Targart! I'll find you even if it kills me!" Hoping De had heard him he stood at the gate listening as the bells rang midnight and watched his Prince turn into a criminal as he fled to the open land.

De would be lying if he said he wanted to remember every despair etched line on his best friend's face. But he did hear him and he had been waiting here ever since. As he landed in by a river he sighed and looked around. He was being followed.

De turned as a group of men stepped out. "Come onnn! You couldn't make your breathing a little quieter?" He teased and they looked unphased that they had been caught.
