Returning to the present, Lin Mei felt like she was about to lose her mind.
How could she be married overnight?
She had been drunk. She barely remembered anything. Yet the man beside her—his curly brown hair, deep brown eyes, and strikingly perfect lips—was unmistakable.
This was Huaze Lei.
The First Young Master of the Huaze family.
The heir to a vast empire.
The CEO everyone claimed would never marry because he was "allergic to women."
There were even rumors saying he was gay.
Those rumors were clearly nonsense.
If anyone had issues, it was more likely her ex, Feng Zhen, not this man. Huaze Lei was a natural seducer. She knew that for a fact.
Last night, he had seduced her, coaxed her into marriage, and only fell asleep after several intense rounds. It had taken great effort to finally make him rest.
And now—
Huaze Lei, the richest man in Country Z, was lying in the same bed as her.
They were legally married.
Not only that, he had insisted on a marriage under community property. Which meant that if they ever divorced—something he had clearly stated would never happen—half of his assets would belong to her.
Lin Mei turned her head and looked at him before asking hesitantly,
"Do I still need to go to school? I'm studying acting at the University of Performing Arts in D City."
"Of course," he replied calmly. "My assistant, Xiao, is already on the way with a change of clothes for both of us. I'll drop you off before going to the company."
He paused briefly, then continued casually,
"When your classes end, pack your things and call me. Just search for 'Husband' in your phone."
Lin Mei froze.
"I've already changed my cover photo," he added, "and posted a picture of our hands with the rings. It doesn't say we're married, but from today onward, you are a married woman."
His gaze darkened slightly.
"So stay away from other men. Delete your ex's contact—you don't need to keep it. As for your 'sister,' she's a poisonous snake. Delete her or rename her however you like."
He spoke as if discussing the weather.
"Oh, and your friend is quite… irritating. She only believed you were asleep after I sent her a photo of you sleeping and a picture of your ring. Shen Fei, right? She's strange."
He frowned lightly.
"She reminds me of a girl my sister keeps mentioning. I think she's my sister's childhood best friend."
Lin Mei stared at him.
"You're different," she suddenly said.
"Different how?" he asked.
"Different in a good way or a bad way?"
"A good way. A very good way," she replied with a smile. "You don't talk like people say you do. Honestly, you just gave me a full monologue."
Huaze Lei looked embarrassed.
"I did?"
"Yes, you did," she said, smiling wider.
…He was surprisingly cute.
"Sorry," he said quietly. "I'm not used to this. You're my first and only woman. I'm still learning how to be a boyfriend, fiancé, and husband—all at the same time."
"No problem," Lin Mei replied honestly. "I'm new to this too. I've dated before, but yesterday was my first time. And this is my first engagement… and marriage."
She leaned closer, her tone suddenly serious.
"But I'll say this now—I'm jealous. Very jealous. I even get jealous of pets. So if you ignore me to talk to someone else without telling me, and if it's a woman—"
She made a slicing gesture across her neck.
"—you're dead."
Huaze Lei stared at her for a second… then smiled.
Assistant Xiao arrived soon after. They took a shower and changed their clothes.
Lin Mei wore a light pink dress, delicate flower lace adorning the top, making her look soft and elegant.
Huaze Lei put on a black suit with a tie, looking refined, powerful, and every bit the man ready to rule an empire.
