"Old Mr. and Mrs. Yancey, can I go find Zoey upstairs? I don't know why, but I feel an affinity with her and wish to spend more time with her."
Agnes only turned her gaze away after Zoey was out of sight.
Feeling perplexed, the two elders said to her, "Agnes, you should be able to tell that Zoey doesn't really want to have anything to do with you. That's why she didn't say much on the topic of how you all look so similar."
Hearing that, the brightness in Agnes' eyes dimmed.
As the lady of the house of a high societal status family, she was definitely not dense. She obviously could tell Zoey's indifference.
Compared to Jeanette's angsty emotions toward this issue, Zoey's was as cold as ice.
It was so cold it could dampen one's enthusiasm.
Nonetheless, deep in Agnes' mind, she still wanted to get close to Zoey.
Even though she did not know where her desire was coming from, she just had the urge to do it.
