Hearing that, Zoey nodded.
"I know, Leo, but I still feel guilty. Kayla has never suffered such pain since she was born. It's my fault for not protecting her well," Zoey muttered softly.
Leo pressed her head against his chest and lowered his voice. "Darling, in that case, I'm the one to blame. I promised to protect you and the twins, but I let Kayla get hurt under my watch."
Before Leo could speak, Kayden interrupted him, "Daddy, Mommy, stop blaming yourselves. Kayla wouldn't want to see you like this. It was an accident, and we can only blame the bad guys. From now on, we have to be cautious and vigilant. That's what we're supposed to do."
Zoey and Leo turned to look at Kayden simultaneously, then they smiled at him.
