Adam watched as Leo's mood shifted, and he praised Kayla silently. Leo was normally one who was completely ambivalent to practically everything, and yet the kid broke through his defenses with a just a couple of words.
This Leo was more human, more down to earth. Not like before, when he was cold and distant, with a vibe that kept everyone from approaching him.
Kayla walked over and beckoned Leo to come closer.
Leo followed along and lowered his head, and she planted a kiss on his face and said, "Daddy, I still love you the most. Uncle Adam is only number four."
Leo wanted to hold back his smile, but in the end he failed to keep his lips from twitching upwards.
He gave a light cough and took a serious faade, "My beloved daughter, remember this. From now on, you're not allowed to kiss another man in front of me."
"Huh?" Kayla opened eyes wide and tilted her head before innocently replying, "Daddy, I can't kiss Grandpa and Great-grandpa in front of you anymore?"
