~Bella's POV
I stood there for a moment, watching them, Noah and Mia, locked in a world that no one else could enter. Their laughter had melted into soft chatter now, their voices hushed and intimate, like children sharing secrets under a blanket.
I didn't want to interrupt. This was their moment. They had earned it.
I gently touched Noah's shoulder. "I'll give you two some time," I said softly.
He looked up, gratitude in his eyes. "Thanks, Bella."
Mia reached out and squeezed my hand. "Don't disappear, okay?"
I smiled. "I'll be back soon."
I slipped out of the room quietly, leaving the door slightly ajar. My heels echoed lightly down the corridor as I made my way toward Dr. Michael's office. My heart still beat with a quiet urgency, happiness for the reunion, but also the lingering ache of fear. I needed to know Mia was truly okay.
Michael's office was just down the hall. I tapped lightly on the door.
"Come in," came his familiar voice.
