~Bella's POV
He followed me through the sliding glass doors, the hospital air cool and sterile. I could feel his nerves beside me, his body tight, his steps slightly hesitant. But he didn't stop. Not once.
We got to Mia's floor, and I smiled at the nurse behind the desk, who waved us through without a word.
I stopped in front of her door and turned to Noah. He looked calm, but I saw the tension behind his eyes.
"I'll go in first," I whispered, pushing the door gently.
Mia was sitting up, reading a book, her long hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She looked over with a soft smile.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I whispered back. "I brought someone."
She tilted her head, curious. "Who?"
I opened the door wider, and Noah stepped in.
For a moment, there was silence. The kind of silence that wraps around you when something too good to be true is happening.
Mia gasped.
"Noah?"
He smiled, his voice breaking. "Hey, little sis."
