When he had become CEO, the situation had gotten even worse. The number of people who viewed him as an enemy and treated him as such had increased. Tristan had what he thought of as a revolving door of enemies. There was always somebody who was out to get him. He had been forced to accept that as just a fact of his life or lose his mind.
He was so used to having people coming after him, that if a long period of time passed without anybody making a move, either to take his position or harm him in some other way Tristan got antsy, unable to relax because most of the time if his enemies were silent, it meant that they were plotting. He had always hated the part where he had to sit around and wait to find out in what manner his enemies would come at him. Now somebody had struck out at Tristan.
