While Ryuji's words implied the same sentiment, he didn't believe Giyu Tomioka would remain a bachelor forever. He believed that the right woman would eventually melt even Giyu's icy demeanor.
Therefore, there was still a chance to attend Giyu's wedding, although it might take ten years or more.
Seiichiro Sakata quietly chimed in, "If I became a Hashira, I'd probably have women all around me!"
Giyu Tomioka looked at Ryuji for a long moment before saying, "Then it's a deal."
Tanjiro took the opportunity to say, "You have to work hard at it, Giyu-senpai! Don't keep us waiting too long!"
A faint smile finally graced Giyu's face.
After bidding farewell to Giyu and the three girls who had seen them off, Ryuji and his eight companions set out for their mission.
The presence of Kujou Hattori, an attractive female team member, significantly boosted Zenitsu's spirits.
While Zenitsu didn't dare to make any advances towards Kujou Hattori, he frequently stole glances at her, finding it a great source of amusement.
Kujou Hattori was aware of Zenitsu's occasional leering glances but chose to ignore them.
As twilight approached and the sun began to set, the group finally arrived at the train station closest to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters.
Ryuji went to the ticket office and purchased nine tickets for the last train to Mugen Train, the train where the disappearances had occurred. Boarding this train marked the beginning of their mission.
He chose the last train because it departed after the sun had completely set, the ideal time for demons to be active.
Upon receiving his ticket from Ryuji, Zenitsu teased, "Ryuji-senpai, I thought you were a country bumpkin like Tanjiro! I never expected you to know how to buy train tickets!"
Ryuji countered with a question, "Were you raised in a city, then?"
Zenitsu clearly wanted to avoid that topic, urging, "Let's just get to the platform!"
The group immediately headed to the platform.
The nearly two- to three-hundred-meter-long platform was already crowded with people waiting to board the train, and a large, dark, old-fashioned train was parked on the tracks below.
Seeing a train for the first time, Inosuke stopped before the locomotive, pointing at the black, old-fashioned train and shouting, "What kind of creature is this dark behemoth?! Could it be the ruler of this land?!"
Zenitsu corrected him, "Idiot, that's a train! It's not a living thing!"
Seiichiro Sakata carefully examined the nearly hundred-meter-long locomotive and carriages, excitedly exclaiming, "That's a train? That's what the train is like in the stories from my village! I'm going to be someone who's ridden a train!"
Kenta Inoue pushed up his glasses and said, "There are train tracks near my village. I used to see trains pass by all the time when I was a kid."
