The following day, Gilbert sat in his office, quietly reviewing a stack of documents when ColdBlood stepped inside.
"Mr. Watson, Kelly won't be getting out of prison anytime soon," he reported, handing over another file. "At least seven or eight years, according to the sentencing."
Gilbert accepted the file and gave a small nod. "She brought this on herself."
ColdBlood gave a faint smile. "Yes. She did." He hesitated, then added, "And about young master Adam's kidnapping, the police have uncovered a gang behind it. Looks like they're tied to NightCat. Based on Kelly's confession, there's a strong chance Emily Oliver and her daughter were involved."
Gilbert's eyes narrowed, a sharp glint flashing through them.
Maybe he had already guessed as much. After a brief pause, he said quietly, "Understood. You can go. If anything else comes up, Captain will call me."
ColdBlood turned to leave, but halfway to the door, he stopped and looked back.
