Chapter 53 - My High school DXD is surprisingly wholesome - 04 (WC)

Ophis nibbled on a cookie as she watched as her companion sighed, looking at the scared girl.

"Calm down Isane-chan. They are just unconscious, not dead." Her companion, one who bore infinity just like her, looked at her then asked. "They are just unconscious right, Ophis?"

She nodded in response. Why was he asking her that though? It's not like she did anything, all she did was sit on him and they fell over. That wasn't her fault.

"THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!! WHAT DID SHE JUST DO AND WHY ARE YOU ACTING AS IF IT'S ALL NORMAL?!!! WHAT THE HELL—"

Ophis was getting a bit annoyed, the girl was shouting too much, she didn't like noise so she raised a hand towards her and she fell.

Silence. Better.

She preferred the companion of Eli, there was something about his presence that set her at ease, something that made her feel like she could go without silence just for a little bit, she didn't know what that feeling was but she didn't hate it.

"Umm, you didn't kill her right?" Why did he think killing someone was her go-to choice? Somehow she felt offended so she didn't respond.

"Ehh, are you pouting?"

She was not.

"You are! I can tell through our link and you're not even doing a good job at hiding it." Ophis could feel his amusement through their link.

She still didn't understand how that worked, the link that is. Just yesterday she had undoubtedly been the only thing infinite in the world until she felt something connect with her, something she didn't realize she had been missing, it just snapped into place like a puzzle piece, seamlessly and naturally.

So immediately as she felt that unfamiliar but familiar connection, she sought it out and appeared before him. The word "mine" had left her lips before she even realized it, she didn't know that she was capable of desiring something so strongly but yet there he was, the object of her new found desire, someone who was like her but yet not, someone who carried infinity just like she did.

It was a curious thing but when he did agree to become hers and she agreed to become his, she could tell. He was not from this dimension, not from this earth, not heaven nor hell, he had just appeared within the world without even crossing through the dimensional gap, which should have not been possible. He wielded infinity in one hand and divinity in the other. An anomaly.

Her anomaly.

But yet, he was the only one in the world who was the closest existence to what she was.

She bit on the fresh cookies that she had come to like as she pondered some more. A lot of people she had met so far had been annoying or demanding, Eli was not.

She had a feeling that he knew more about her than anyone else.

She leaned into him as she ate her cookies, she wished she had some milk to go with it.

"So, umm, what happened here?" A new voice coming from the back door of the class, asked. Ophis didn't bother to look in the direction but Eli did, although he was not surprised.

"I would like to know as well." Another voice added, this one stern, Ophis could see the owner of the voice since she was standing at the entrance. She continued to nibble on her cookie. Eli did not feel nervous nor threatened so she let the new arrivals do what they wanted, but she was watching them if they tried anything funny.

"Well, would you believe me if I said they were like this when I got here?"

•••

Being in class in the morning for homeroom and feeling a pressure settle itself on the whole school, she would have had to be an idiot to not think something was wrong. So the first thing she did was immediately use a spell that put everyone in her class to sleep.

"Rias…" Of course, with the exception of her Queen, Akeno.

"Akeno, come with me, it's coming from… downstairs." Rias said, even people without magic could probably feel this overwhelming presence that was coming from the floor below.

Akeno, already aware of the situation nodded her head, her usual teasing nature replaced with seriousness. Her Queen could be serious when she needed to.

Leaving the classroom and walking down the stairs, they met Koneko and Kiba on the stairway.

"President… this presence." The nervous voice of Kiba said.

"Koneko, what do you think?" Rias asked even though she had an idea.

Koneko's nose twitched. "Dragon. Strong… very strong."

That was what she had felt as well. Was it possible that Isane Hyoudou had somehow awakened her Sacred Gear in class? Koneko had said that her Sacred Gear had the smell of a dragon as well. And from their path, that overwhelming presence was coming from the class of the same Isane Hyoudou.

By the time they reached the back door of the classroom, Kiba—her Knight, ever reliable already had a sword on his hands.

Rias slid the door open.

What greeted them was an almost comical sight.

All the students and teacher in the room, including Isane Hyoudou—who Rias had thought was the cause—were unconscious with the exception of two people. A boy and a little girl.

To be completely honest to Satan, the first thing Rias thought upon seeing the boy was 'anime protagonist'. His appearance spoke for itself. Light purple hair and orange eyes and he didn't even seem surprised to see them there, which was interesting. If that wasn't trope bound, Rias would eat a Bible.

The second person, the one who was sitting on the lap of the boy and munching on cookies with all the grace of a squirrel—made Rias' spine straighten. Instinctively, she knew that the one who was disguised as a little girl was anything but.

After all, that very same little girl was the source of the overwhelming pressure, what was even more terrifying was that she didn't seem to be directing that pressure towards anyone, all she was doing was sitting there and eating cookies while the world seemed to have held its breath—she didn't even acknowledge their presence either.

Scary.

If a fight was to break out here, she doubted even a miracle would help them win. But still, she was Rias Gremory, a King of her peerage and the heir of the Gremory household, she was also one of the overseer of this town, so she couldn't let an unknown cause problems like this, especially not in a school, talk less of the one she was studying at.

So she spoke with the authority befitting of a noble-born, high-class devil.

"So, umm, what happened here?" No, Rias!! That was not the authority befitting of a noble-born, high-class devil at all.

She heard the front door slide open. "I would like to know as well." And it seemed like Sona had just arrived with her peerage behind her.

Everyone waited for an answer from the boy who looked out of place in the whole debacle.

"Well," he started. "Would you believe me if I said they were like this when I got here?"

For a beat, there was only silence… until Akeno broke it.

"Fufufu… I don't think anyone would believe that, orange-eyes-kun." She said.

Akeno, really? Even now?

"I would like to call my lawyer." The boy said, a smirk on his lips as he looked at Akeno who giggled with her hand over her mouth.

"You, you are… Tenoshima Elias, the new student?" Sona pushed up her glasses.

New student? No wonder Rias didn't recognize him even though his appearance stood out… still though, he was already checking out Rias' mental list, not only a mysterious transfer student but one who had a dragon eating cookies in his lap.

Rias decided that she was going to befriend this person.

"You were suppose to see me this morning." Sona said, Rias knew that Sona liked to take a professional approach to things but was she seriously not feeling the pressure in the air? Had everyone decided to ignore the dragon casually sitting there?

Well, at least Koneko had her eyes firmly on the black haired girl—correction, Koneko had her eyes firmly on the cookies of the black haired girl.

"Actually…" The boy, Elias raised a finger. "It's still morning."

Sona opened her mouth to likely scold him and Rias interrupted before any more conversation could take place. "How about we have this conversation somewhere else?"

•••

Man, the girls of this world were beautiful as hell, so what did that say about the devils who lived in hell? If I was a young master, I would have been calling them jade beauties with transparent skins by now.

Devils were sinful in that their body exuded charm, each step they took seemed choreographed to seduce, to tempt and if even great men from the Bible could not resist temptation, who was I to do so? I was but a man after all. (I am choosing to conveniently forget that I am a dragon and a small god).

Right now, we were sitting in the occult research club, the people in attendance were I and Ophis—still eating cookies without so much as sparing anyone a glance—who actually let me carry her in my arms to the club room. The others were Rias and Sona who was sitting in a couch before me, Akeno had excused herself to make tea, Kiba and Koneko were sitting on a couch nearby and what was her name again?—The one who looked like Sona but hotter—she was standing behind Sona while the rest of her peerage were handling the commotion—which meant memory wiping.

The two of them had varied expressions, Rias looked excited, if a bit nervous and Sona looked stern as always but there was an undercurrent of tension there.

I have outdone myself with this one, I should probably get awarded for being one of the few who couldn't even last a day before getting discovered as supernatural, although I was not too bothered about it though as I didn't intend to actually hide. I was here for boobs and I had to make it clear by not hiding myself.

What sort of man would I be if I hid my ideals?

"So, Elias-kun, I can call you that, right?" Rias started, a small smile on her lips. I nodded. "Elias-kun, you have caused quite the commotion."

I scratched my cheek with a finger. "To be fair, I didn't know something like that would happen… even though it feels like I should have."

"What do you mean by that?" Sona cut in. "And this person… who is she?" She asked looking at Ophis, although she couldn't keep her gaze, no doubt feeling the weight of her presence.

"Ah, this is Ophis." I said as I put a hand on her head, stroking it while she silently leaned into it.

Was this okay? Was she allowed to be this cute? Isn't she supposed to be the infinite dragon and not the cutie patootie dragon?

Everyone present in the room had gone stiff after my casual mention on the dragon god, it made sense that they knew her name, since they are supernatural.

"O-ophis…?" Rias asked. "The dragon god, Ophis?"

"Yep, that one… cute thing, isn't she?" I feel slightly bad because I was having a bit of fun with this. Yes, this tamed loli sitting on my lap and eating cookies is that dragon god and now my Waifu. Ridiculous, isn't it?

I could see the gears spinning in the heads of my unsuspecting girlfriends as they processed the implication of what I had said and what they were currently witnessing.

Sona took one too many deep breaths before speaking. "What is… the dragon god doing here?" She asked measuredly. "And why is she sitting on your lap?"

"Err, I think she rather likes it here. And I like it too, honestly. And we basically adopted each other yesterday." I replied casually.

"You— wha—" Sona looked like she was about to have an aneurysm. Rias placed a hand on the girl's thigh to calm her before speaking.

"Adopt?" Rias asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, we met yesterday and we started living together."

Rias blinked, tone unbelieving. "Just like that?"

Ophis was the one who responded. "I like Eli." She said as if that statement was enough to put every doubt to rest and it probably was, judging from Rias' widened eyes.

As expected of the heiress though, she quickly composed herself. "…So you are supernatural, Elias-kun…"

"Oh yeah, I used magic for the first time yesterday." I said truthfully as I nodded.

"Just yesterday? That's impressive, did someone teach you?" She asked, leaning forward, her bountiful chest drawing my eyes for a brief moment.

I shook my head and lied with the grace of a professional. "I awakened this thing called a Sacred Gear and it taught me a lot of things, like about the supernatural world."

"Oh…" Rias eyes sparkled a bit. "So that means that you know what we are then?" She asked at the same time that Akeno stepped back into the room. She placed a cup of tea before the two kings and then walked deliberately close to me and leaned placing a cup before me.

I am not ashamed to say that I didn't bother to glance this time. I stared respectfully. Haven't you ever tried looking straight into the sun just because you could? Exactly and these were some mesmerizing sun.

"Fufufufu… enjoy the tea, orange-eyes-kun." She said as she walked away to stand behind Rias who just sighed in fond exasperation.

"I fully intend to savor this fluid—tea, I mean tea."

"Pervert." Koneko said from where she sat. I looked at her with a smirk. She looked away, hands reaching for the snack in Kiba's hands.

I coughed into my hand. "Anyway, you guys are devils, right?"

"So you know that much then?" She then sat straighter. "I am Rias Gremory, third year. Heir of the Gremory household and one of the overseers of this town." She said, preening slightly.

"Oh…" I clapped a bit. "So you're Rias-senpai, then?"

"S-senpai?"

"Eh, you don't like it?"

"No, not at all, senpai does have a nice ring to it." She giggled.

"Am I going to be called senpai, as well?" Akeno teased, her gaze boring into mine.

"Well, as long as you do your job by teaching me a few things, I don't think I would mind calling you senpai."

"Ara ara, what a bad boy you are, kouhai-kun. Fufufu." Akeno giggled in a way that made me glad Ophis was sitting on my lap.

"I don't know what you are talking about senpai." I said with faux innocence.

Clink.

Sona placed her cup on her coaster, deliberately drawing attention.

"I am Sona Sitri, the next head of the Sitri family, the school president and the other overseer of this town." She said tersely as she smoothed her skirt.

I clapped again. "You've really rocking that serious president look, senpai, or should I call you Prez?"

Her face flushed a bit and a small laugh escaped the lips of her queen.

"That's not the problem." She regained her composure. "The problem we have now is that an unknown element is residing in our town with…" she glanced at Ophis. "A high-risk individual."

I glanced down at Ophis, she was completely unconcerned and engrossed in what she was eating. "If that is the problem, all we have to do is get to know each other, right?"

"Eh?" Sona asked blankly.

I looked at Rias. "Am I wrong?"

She shook her head. "Not per-se. It's just that we have not dealt with something like this before so suggesting something so simple is a bit… surprising."

Well, I'm a simple guy. I like boobs and I like magic and this town has all of it in the form of sexy devils who look like succubus so there is no way I'm causing trouble, not at all.

"Ara, ara." Akeno giggled.

I looked at her then at the girls present in the room whose face was a bit red. Even Kiba looked like he was trying to hide a smile.

"Pervert." Koneko said.

I blinked . "I said that out loud, didn't I?"

"If it makes you feel better," Rias said, her tone light but teasing. "I'm a simple girl as well."

Eh? What is this? Was my face heating up? Did I just find true love?

"Careful there Rias-senpai, those kind of words can tugs my heart strings." Wow, did these guys have stat checks or something? I might not survive if I stay here for too long. What I want is boobs though, not romance.

Rias put a leg over the other, a small smile gracing her lips. "Perhaps, that's what your senpai was aiming for."

"Fufufu. This day has been really delightful." Akeno said as she looked at Rias who was now sporting a blush at her attempt to flirt.

"Can we get serious here?" Sona said, trying to bring the conversation back on track.

"Prez, I'm totally serious though. Let's get to know each other. It's just my first day of school, are you not going to give me the benefit of the doubt at least?" I asked, leaning into the pretty boy style that made girls swoon in movies.

"Th-that's— it's not you that I'm worried about." She said exasperatedly as she glanced at Ophis.

I placed a hand on Ophis' head, stroking it gently. She really likes when I do that, judging from the amount of approval was flowing through our link.

"She won't cause any harm. I mean look at this cute creature. Does she look like she would hurt a fly?"

Sona stared and surprisingly, her words died in her mouth.

"It is indeed shocking that someone this cute is the dragon god. I wouldn't believe it if not for her presence." Rias said.

I nodded, agreeing with her.

"Eli—" Ophis' voice cut into the room, grabbing everyone's undivided attention. She had a cup of tea in her hand. Wait a minute, isn't that mine?

"—You don't have a sacred gear."

A silence passed as everyone digested her words.

What is this loli saying?!

Are you my enemy? My downfall given form—is that what you are, Ophis?
