"Let's become partners." I said to Idris whose narrowed eyes suddenly flew open in shock. For a few minutes he said nothing. I knew he didn't see it coming but Nicole's sudden resignation made the absence of a partner more noticeable. Well, officially because Idris had always been a partner even though it is not official, and now I'm making it official.
"I wouldn't want a mute partner," I teased after some time when he still would say anything.
"I honestly don't know what to say," he replied.
"How about yes, I would be your business partner with all my heart." I teased, and he rolled his eyes.
"Does that mean I get to take one of the offices in this corner?" He asked. He was trying hard to not show how excited he was, and he was sucking at it.
