Kathy woked up feeling dizzy, she heard loud noises, looking at her it was like she was in a pit because the noises where coming from above. She looked up and gasped when she saw thousands of people up there screaming .
What was it again.... Trial of the damned.
She was doomed. Can't they give someone a break. They want to kill her already
Someone raised her hand and they shouting ceased immediately
" Human. How do you feel being a guest of honor in the trial of the damned. You think you can come in here and just woo our prince from us , think again." The woman named Irene said
She hadn't even started to woo him yet. Kathy thought but she was already in a pit for damned people.
" That's so kind of you my lady making me a guest of honor." Kathy shouted for her to hear her . She was being sarcastic but she didn't care, Dylan said she wasn't allowed to die unless he wants it. She'll trust his words for now and buy him time, if she ended up dying she'll hunt him for the redt of his life
" You won't be laughing long." She heard a woman's voice and it was none other than the woman who told her that her maid would no longer serve her. What was her name again..... princess.... Serena
" Your highness, you're here as well." Kathy said smiling
The lady's blood boiled seeing her laughing like that
" Begin!" She said angrily
" Wait!, Wait my princess please explain to me what's going on here? You can't just throw me into something I'm not aware of. At least tell me what going on." Kathy said
" Okay I'll tell you. You're entertainment." She simply said
Kathy looked at her eyes widened , then she blinked
" Entertainment." She mumbled to herself then she smiles and looked up." I'll try my best to entertain you very well, making sure you're satisfied." Kathy said
" Of course." The princess replied and raised her hands . The drums beats loudly
Kathy looked in front of her and saw a monster being released from its cage.
First she heard a hiss, Kathy was shocked it was a snake bit of course things here would never look normal not even snakes.
The creature towered above her, skeletal ribs stretching like the bars of a cage. Within its hollow chest, wretched faces pressed against the bone, clawing, screaming—souls trapped in agony. Its head dipped low, empty eye sockets leaking black smoke, fangs glistening with venom that dripped and hissed upon the floor.
Kathy thought she would throw up or faint. She has even given a weapon, not fair at all. She trembled at the sight
"The Hollow Serpent," the princess voice intoned, steady and merciless. "It is the devourer of certainty. It slithers into the minds of the damned and feeds on their doubts until they collapse into nothing. To face it is to face yourself—your weakest, most broken self. Fail, and you will be hollow as it is." Princess Serena said smiling devishly
This was getting serious Kathy thought, now she was fighting hollow snakes.
" Princess Serena what did I ever do to you?" Kathy asked crying." I don't even know you but you hate me , at least let me die a peaceful death, not a snake one ." Kathy said the creature lunged at her and she ran away
I thought you said that they won't kill me until they got what they want from me. But now I'm going to die curse you Dylan..... Kathy thought damning Dylan over and over as she ran for her life.
Luckily the pit was pretty big so she could run a good distance but only one thing wrong. The creature was fast.
" Kathy.....sssss." it hissed . Kathy didn't want to ask how it could talk but what was more surprising was it imitated Dylan's voice
" Why are you imitating his voice?, How are you talking? That's creepy and weird." Kathy said still running as fast as she could. Nobody told her snakes could talk.
" Listen why don't we just talk it out your highness, please I'm sorry for everything I said, I really am but it's not fair if you want to kill me don't use snakes I have snakes phobia." Kathy screamed pleading
" So you can beg , that's interesting." Princess Serena said." Beg a little more maybe I'll reconsider." She added
" Please princess, please save me, I'm sorry if I ever offended you " Kathy cried as the monster closed in on her
" One more time." Princess Serena said smiling
" Please." Kathy whispered out of breath
Princess Serena smiled and raised her hands up. Immediatly the snake traced back into it's caged.
Kathy sighed with relief. She was out of breath
" Thank you your highness, is there anyway I can pay you for your kindness of sparing my life." Kathy asked and of course she was being sarcastic
" Get her out of there. After whipping her at least twenty Stokes." Princess Serena said and left
Kathy gasped looking at the crazy woman. What did she do to deserve this? who did she offended?
" Damned princess." She said under her breath and slowly sat on the floor .
A guard came to her and roughly grabbed her up pulling her with him. As they got out of the arena
" I left you for some minutes and the next thing you're in a trial of the damned." Dylan voice echoed making Kathy gasped she looked up and saw him leaning on a wall looking at her .
" Dylan." Kathy whispered forgetting herself. Tears flowed from her eyes she freed herself from the guard and ran to him. The guard was confused she called him Dylan and let her ran to him
Kathy hugged Dylan still crying
" They....they ... I.... Almost died. Your crazy sister tried to ki... Kill me." Kathy said not knowing that being this close do Dylan was making him uncomfortable. He shifted but she cling to him more
" Dylan?" The guard said catching Dylan's attention immediately
" Little human cat I'll be right back, just stay here and close your eyes." Dylan said . Kathy looked up to him confused she didn't realize she had said his name .
" Little human cat?" That seems to be more her problem
" Little cat it is ." Dylan said as he trapped the guard in a trance , Kathy was unaware of what he was doing to the guard
" Who are you calling cat." Kathy asked
" You said your name is catryn. I shorten it to cat." Dylan said. Kathy looked at him speechless
" Is that a pet name?" She asked blushing
Now it was Dylan's turn to be speechless. For a brief moment he forgot about the guard standing there.
