Kathy looked shocked as hell.what was going on? What just happened?
Who was he? Was this Dylan's real face?
Rather than begging the Lord to spare her life, she was demanding an answer. Why could someone be so beautiful? It wasn't fair. Was he even human? No—he couldn't be. He was a god.
"D-Dylan? Is that you? How… how?" she choked out, still trapped in his grip.
"You should be more concerned about your life, little cat," he growled, tightening his hold.
Kathy's mind raced. She had to think of something, anything. There had to be a reason his real face suddenly came out like that . Maybe someone was looking for him, but she didn't even know who he was she couldn't begin to guess
"They want you to… to be like th-this. Calm down," she struggled to say.
"Calm down?" Dylan echoed, almost amused. "That's your solution? To calm me?" His gaze burned into her, curious.
"L-listen, Dylan. Th-they want you like this. I think… I think they're trying to find you," Kathy gasped, and his grip loosened slightly.
"Why do you care?" he asked sharply.
"Because… we're friends. You might not understand the words, but… we are," she managed weakly.
Dylan noticed her energy fading. With a grunt, he released her, and she collapsed, coughing and gasping for air. She slowly stood up breathing hard. She glared at him bit try to remain composed. Why would he choke her neck like that
"F-first off… Dylan… we're going to take this slow. Calm down." Kathy's eyes met his godlike face. He was beyond beautiful—"beautiful" wasn't even the right word. His blazing red eyes, his long black hair… he was terrifying perfection. And then his lips were moving, she realized he was saying something she struggled to place his words
"How can you possibly calm me down? I can't control it when it's in a killing spree. You can't do anything about it," he snapped.
"Just… let me try. Please. We can't let them find you," she begged, swaying on her feet.
"What's it to you? Why the hell do you care?" His voice rose, anger cutting through the air. Dylan always got worked up when he couldn't understand something, and right now, he couldn't understand her at all.
"You wouldn't understand even if I explained," Kathy whispered, reaching out to touch him.
"Stop what you're doing," he warned.
But she didn't listen. Instead, she shoved him, catching him off guard, and he fell to the ground. She straddled him, leaving Dylan speechless.
"Let me try, at least," she said firmly, eyes locked on his.
Dylan surrendered he was tired of her
"You've got five minutes," he muttered.
Kathy froze, the pressure of his words weighing on her. She didn't even know what to do. Instead, she just stared at him, mesmerized by his impossible beauty. A smile slipped across her lips without her realizing.
Dylan frowned. Why was she smiling?
"So… what's the plan?" he asked, his expression stony.
"Huh?" she blinked.
"The plan to calm me down," he pressed, his patience thinning.
"Oh. Um… calm down, calm down…" she said, her voice trailing off as she got lost in his face again. Then he smiled—a devilish curve of his lips—and her heart nearly stopped.
"Calm down? You're not the brightest little cat, are you? That plan is terrible," he said dryly.
Kathy blinked twice, then smiled awkwardly. He was… talking to her. Actually talking. She blushed
"Well… you're so beautiful I lost my plan to the wind. We'll have to catch it," she muttered like a fool.
Dylan sighed, lying back against the ground. She was still straddling him, and his body… refused to obey him he couldn't get up, or he didn't want to get up he doesn't know which.
"How long are we staying like this?" he asked.
Kathy gasped, realizing she was still on top of him. She scrambled to get up, but Dylan's arms wrapped around her waist, dragging her down hard against him.
She froze, eyes wide, her most private part pressed against his. She gasped and tried to pull away but he refused to release her
"D-Dylan, what are you doing?" she whispered, trembling. It was the first time in her life she had been this close to a man, and her heart slammed wildly in her chest.
"I just remembered why I haven't killed you yet." His handsome face moved closer, and she gulped hard.
Her body shook uncontrollably, every nerve on fire, her senses painfully aware of what was pressed against her. She was helpless.
"Dylan… wait…" her voice trembled, but the words tangled and died.
"You could try again, you know," he murmured, his grip tightening.
"W-what?" she breathed
"'Calm down, Dylan. Calm down.'" He mimicked her voice mockingly.
Her face flushed, but she forced her mind back into place. Were they really going to pretend their bodies weren't pressed together like this? Fine. She could pretend. She lifted her hand and patted his chest.
"C-calm… calm down…" she whispered, her voice quivering.
"That's better. Isn't it?" Dylan shifted slightly, pressing harder against her, and she whimpered. "Now… I'll just borrow a little of your memory."
Her eyes flew wide. His words jolted her awake.
"What do you mean? Whose memory?" she asked frantically.
"Yours, of course. I can't let you walk free now that you've seen my real face." His hand reached for her head.
"No!" Kathy scrambled back, breaking their heated connection. Dylan frowned, disappointment flashing in his eyes.
"You're going to make me forget about you?" she whispered, horrified.
He smirked from where he still lay on the ground.
"Not all of me. Just my face."
Kathy's chest tightened. Forget him? Forget that face? No—she didn't want to.
Dylan rose slowly to his feet. Each step he took forward, she took one back.
"I won't let you forget me. Not now, not ever. But my face? That, I never let women remember."
Kathy's breath caught—and then she ran. Without hesitation, she turned and fled into the darkness.
Dylan scoffed, watching her go. If he didn't know better, he'd think she was more afraid of forgetting his face than of him himself.
He tilted his head, smirking.
"What an amusing little cat you are."
