Inside the Convocation chamber, floating thrones of different materials circled a wide platform of pure white stone. The space existed between realms, accessible only by Progenitors. Today every seat was filled.
The Dragon Progenitor, Kaelthos, lounged on a throne of molten bronze, scales gleaming. Across from him sat the Spirit Progenitor, Nyxara, her form half-transparent and shifting like mist. The Witch Progenitor, Elara, stood rather than sat, black robes swirling around her feet. Dera occupied the Human seat, still new to the power of the Authority. Lilith and Damaris shared the Demon and Vampire thrones side by side. The Werewolf Progenitor, Fenrir, growled low under his breath. The Kitsune Progenitor, Inari, flicked nine golden tails in quiet irritation. Michael, the Angel Progenitor, kept his wings folded tight. The Shadow Progenitor, Void, was barely visible—an empty space that watched everything.
Elara raised a hand. The chamber dimmed.
