~ODETTE'S POV~
For a moment the world stopped moving. Time seemed to stand still. This moment among millions frozen.
I saw her standing there. As if she'd never left me. As if we were the only two people in this space.
Yet she felt entirely different almost unrecognizable. Her hair was still the same shade of pink.
But her eyes? They glowed red violet. Like Mammy's. but they were slitted like a dragon's or a snake's. The air around her dripped with malice and smelled like death. She didn't bring the usual calming and loving feeling she usually did wherever she went. The peace she came with was gone like it never existed and dread replaced it.
"Mother…" I whispered.
