Chapter 63 - Chapter 64.

"Nyx."Ellis stared at him, a slight frown creasing his brow, "If you don't control yourself, you'll end up being out of control of even yourself."

Nyx was silent for a moment, then shrugged and smiled a somewhat cynical smile, "That's kind of funny, isn't it?"

Ellis looked at him and didn't say anything for a moment.

After a few seconds, he suddenly turned around and walked towards the bookshelf, pulling an ancient book with an ancient cover from it, flipping through a few pages before dropping it into Nyx's hands.

"What is it?"Nyx looked down and realized that it was a book that recorded the techniques of Abyssal magic control.

Ellis looked at him, his tone so calm it was inexplicably alarming, "Starting today, read fifty pages a day and write an analysis of the use of magic."

Nyx: "..."

His head snapped up, his whole body on the verge of exploding, "Wait, you're making me-"

"If you don't want your magic to run riot later and be consumed by the Abyss, or just get sealed by me, then you'll learn."Ellis said calmly, "Otherwise, why do you think I'm taking the time to mind you?"

Nyx froze, his fingers unconsciously rubbing the pages of the book, his eyes flickering slightly.

He had originally thought that Ellis was just upset about his prank, but now it seemed like the guy was genuinely worried about himself. This made his heart inexplicably a little complicated.

But in the next second, he returned to his usual hangdog demeanor, flipping through the book in his arms, and casually said, "Alright, alright, anyway, you've said this, so I'll begrudgingly obey for a bit."

Ellis glanced at him and didn't say anything, just nodded faintly before turning around and walking out of the study.

Nyx watched his back, the corner of his mouth gently curled up into a smile if anything.

He lazily leaned back in his chair and flipped through the book, casually fiddling with the abyssal runes on the pages, and murmured in a low voice, "What a troublesome fellow."

Nyx thought he could muddle through this matter by casually flipping through the book and mucking around for a few days. But he soon realized that Ellis didn't give him a chance to be lazy at all.

The next morning, he had only just opened his eyes when he saw Ellis standing beside his bed, holding the book he had given him yesterday, calmly looking at him.

"Awake?"Ellis' tone was cold, "It's time to turn in your magic usage analysis."

Nyx: "..."

He hadn't written it yet!Nyx closed his eyes and played dead, burying himself into his pillow and muttering vaguely, "... Five more minutes of sleep."

Ellis reached straight up and lifted his covers.

Nyx was instantly sobered by the cold air and sat up fried, glaring at Ellis, "You--!"

"Cut the crap."Ellis' tone was calm, "Get up and finish what needs to be done."

Nyx was cornered by him, muttering and complaining, "Aren't demons supposed to be free?Is it really good for you to restrict me like this? The Abyss would probably laugh their asses off if they knew that I'm living the same life as an academy student here ..."

Ellis looked at him expressionlessly, his tone not slow, "If you go back to the Abyss now, I'm afraid you'll only be captured by your mother and grandfather for stricter training."

Nyx: "..."

He choked, shivering as he recalled his mother's bottomless doting eyes, and the meaningful smile that hung at the corners of his that grandfather's mouth when he looked at him.

Forget it, it was better to stay here with Ellis. At least Ellis couldn't care less about him, and wouldn't make him practice parsing against countless Abyssal Contracts every day like his mother did.

With his head hanging down, he resigned himself to picking up the book and began to write an analysis of the use of magic power.
