Gabriel sat at the large desk inside his bedroom. Several papers were spread across the surface while a rough diagram of the camp structure had already been written out in clear lines. The entire layout of the three divisions, the rank system, the captains, and the chains of command had already been arranged. Only one part remained unfinished.
Seraphina was lying sideways across the couch near the window, lazily watching him work. One leg hung over the armrest while she twirled a strand of her red hair between her fingers.
"You have been staring at that spot for ten minutes," she said.
Gabriel did not look up from the papers. "Division Three."
"What about it?"
"There is no one suitable to lead it."
Seraphina tilted her head slightly. "None?"
"None that I trust with that level of authority yet."
