Ignoring the others, Kai took a small bowl, ladled some red bean ginger milk pudding, and offered it to Dodai. "Try some. It's not poisonous."

"Old man, give it to me! Quickly, before those two get back, and I miss out!" Yugito Nii exclaimed, suddenly realizing the rare opportunity to grab this unusual delicacy.

The thought of the tailed beasts splitting it three ways spurred her into action. Ignoring Kai's permission, she snatched the spoon and dove in.

Kai rolled his eyes, casually served another bowl, and offered it to the hesitant Samui. "You're in a delicate state. Catching a cold wouldn't be good. This warms the body and stomach. Try some."

"How… how did you know?" Samui blushed, completely flustered.

Such things were private.

If not for everyone's attention being on the pudding, she would have wanted to disappear. She instinctively took the bowl, the jiggly pudding emitting an enticing aroma of ginger and milk, making her swallow hard.

"Boss, you didn't wait for us!" Two sharp cries echoed from a distance.

Samui quickly saw two ninken, moving at incredible speed, covering dozens of meters to reach the pudding.

Seeing Yugito's blissful expression, Samui couldn't resist scooping up some pudding and eating it.

The instant it touched her tongue, the spicy ginger and creamy milk combined. The smooth texture, the sweet and soft red beans, made her eyes widen.

As she swallowed, a wave of warmth spread from her stomach to her entire body, chasing away the lingering chill.

The sensation was intensely pleasurable, making her reach for another spoonful. She ate until the bowl was empty. Seeing the now-raided bowl, she instinctively lunged for the remaining pudding.

Witnessing this enthusiastic scene, the initially hesitant Dodai couldn't resist any longer. In his eyes, elite Kumogakure shinobi wouldn't share food with lowly refugees.

But curiosity killed the cat. While he might have ignored a single person, seeing even Samui abandon her composure, he couldn't help himself. He scooped up some pudding, the aroma making him swallow.

The smooth texture, spicy ginger, subtle milkiness, and sweet red beans combined perfectly. A wave of warmth spread through him, thawing his still-chilled limbs.

He devoured the bowl quickly. Seeing the remaining pudding, he boldly asked, "Could I have another bowl?"

"No!" Kai's voice cut through the air, leaving Dodai slightly embarrassed. But then he saw Yugito, sprawled on the ground, her stomach distended, having eaten far too much.

"Burp! I ate eighteen bowls! I win!" Yugito said, picking her teeth and glaring at the two "huskies" beside her.

"Pfft, I ate twenty!"

"Twenty-two!"

Son Gokū and Shukaku countered, maintaining their competitive spirit even in boasting.

"I ate seven!" Samui blushed, loosening her waistband, her expression still indicating she wanted more.

Karui and the other children, though less competitive, had eaten three or four bowls each, their faces flushed with warmth.

Dodai's face twitched uncontrollably. He hadn't even properly tasted the pudding, and it was already gone. The aftertaste was exquisite, but it was over before it began. He regretted his initial arrogance.

"Nagato, you have another bowl left, right? Could I have it?" Dodai asked, his pride swallowed by his desire to savor the pudding.

"Sorry, this is for the injured," Kai said, smiling at the ruined refugee camp. "But I'll make more tomorrow. Come by then."

"Old geezer, you've tasted my Old Man's cooking! It's unforgettable! Come early tomorrow!" Yugito teased.

Dodai was speechless. Kai, carrying a bowl of ginger milk pudding, approached Darui.

"You awake?" Kai said, looking at Darui, who was pretending to sleep. "Are you too weak, or too hungry to open your eyes? If you want to get stronger, I might be able to help."

"You can help me?" Darui opened his eyes.

Thanks to the Life Restoration Technique and the blood-boosting pills, Darui's recovery was remarkable. His complexion was still pale, but Kai offered him the pudding. "Eat this. If you feel your strength returning, I can help you become a Kage."

Become a Kage?

Darui was stunned. It was an unattainable goal. Even Samui, their protector, wouldn't dare to make such a promise. The disparity was immense.
