"She's gone out?" Kai asked, surprised. Pakura was usually inseparable from him. Her sudden absence was highly unusual.
"Mister, aren't you a jinchuriki? What kind of sealing technique do you use? The old-timers said it was really tough," Yugito Nii asked hesitantly.
Sealing technique?
Kai paused. The Five Great Nations each used different sealing techniques for their jinchuriki weapons, each with varying strengths.
If he had to rank them, the Uzumaki clan's seals were the most effective, while Sunagakure's "naptime seal" was the weakest.
Even a short nap could lead to Shukaku's backlash, as seen with Rasa's permanent dark circles.
The "old-timers" Yugito mentioned were likely past jinchuriki. As they neared the end of their lives, their declining physical and mental strength weakened the seals' effectiveness, leading to tailed beast backlash and often a tragic end.
"Mister, it's a secret, right? You can't tell me?" Yugito said urgently. "Then tell me, which tailed beast is inside you?"
"Or… are they scary?"
Seeing Yugito's eagerness, Kai sighed, ruffled her head, and gestured towards Son Gokū, the Four-Tails, lying on his back, snoring softly. "Can I just say it's lying behind you?"
Behind me?
Yugito paused, remembering the monkey she'd been playing with moments before, now fast asleep.
The image of the boisterous, gluttonous monkey, with its four flamboyant tails, clashed sharply with her preconceived notion of a tailed beast.
In her mind, tailed beasts were embodiments of disaster, unleashing immense power upon the slightest provocation, capable of destroying entire villages.
The image of this snoring monkey was jarring.
"Hey, you stinky turtle, don't run away! You were licking my butt…"
"Stinky turtle, why are you licking my toes…"
The snoring was audible even across the vast expanse of the wasteland, making Kai twitch.
The Three-Tails, hidden in Kai's cloak, suddenly darted out, followed by Son Gokū's screams.
Seeing the Three-Tails' three flamboyant tails, Yugito pointed, dumbfounded. "Th-that… that's the Three-Tails...?"
Kai nodded, rubbing his nose. He wondered if he should try to instill some decorum in his tailed beasts. Otherwise, they might end up like Boruto, with Kurama becoming a mascot in a pet-raising game.
In Kirigakure, atop the Mizukage Tower, Yagura stood with a grim expression. Mei Terumi had recently returned with the heavily injured Suigetsu. He'd hoped Suigetsu would become a powerful asset, filling the gap in Kirigakure's top-tier shinobi.
However, reports from the Anbu revealed that Suigetsu had been defeated by Uchiha Kai, who had even offered him a position.
While the tactic of recruiting an opponent after defeating them was somewhat comical, given the precedents of Kisame and Fuguki Suikazan, it concerned Yagura.
"Come out," Yagura said suddenly.
A figure emerged from the nearby water, revealing the form of Utakata.
"Fourth Mizukage, what is it?" Utakata asked coldly.
As a member of Kirigakure's renowned Hōzuki clan, with a second Mizukage in their lineage, Utakata was a strong contender for the Mizukage position after the Third Mizukage's death. Unfortunately, like Mei, his jinchuriki status was a significant drawback.
"You're still the same," Yagura said, ignoring Utakata's cold demeanor. "You know about Suigetsu, right?"
"He, like you, encountered Uchiha Kai, the Konoha rogue ninja, and was defeated."
"Unlike you, however, Kai offered Suigetsu a position."
"He's interested in Suigetsu?" Utakata's expression darkened. "Fourth Mizukage, what are you planning?"
"Full Moon, you understand me," Yagura said coldly. "I'm leaving for the Five Kage Summit. You, Suigetsu, and Mei will accompany me…"
Yagura's orders set off a chain reaction across the other four nations, creating a tense atmosphere across the shinobi world.
In Sunagakure, in the Kazekage's office, Rasa stood before a window, his face grim, almost crushing the scroll he'd received from the Land of Water. The tension was palpable, unnerving the assembled Sunagakure shinobi.
Baki broke the silence. "Kazekage-sama, what do we do?"
All eyes turned to Rasa.
They remembered Pakura, a candidate for the Fourth Kazekage, hailed as a Sunagakure hero, who had been sacrificed by Rasa to secure a truce between Sunagakure and Kirigakure.
It was a cold betrayal. While the higher-ups and the Daimyo of the Land of Wind spun it as a heroic act, those close to Pakura knew the truth: she had been sent to her death.
Rasa took a deep breath, surveying the room.
These were Sunagakure's strongest shinobi. Pakura's death would have been convenient. But Kai's intervention had saved her.
This situation could become a major headache if not handled carefully.
Rasa said coldly, "I've called you together for three reasons."
"First, the Five Kage Summit called by Kirigakure's new Mizukage. After deliberation with the council of elders, Sunagakure will attend in the Land of Iron."
