Chapter 197 - MSOC: Chapter 197

"The Seven Swords!" Suigetsu's expression changed dramatically.

Within Kirigakure, the Seven Ninja Swordsmen held a status second only to the Mizukage, serving as an elite assassination squad directly under his command.

For Kirigakure's Anbu, there was an almost unhealthy obsession and reverence for the Seven Swordsmen. This was especially true for Suigetsu, a psychopath known as the Demon.

"Pick one. Or all seven, if you like," Kai said with a playful smile. Everyone needs a goal in life; even being a slacker requires a certain disposition. Kai certainly wasn't one, and Suigetsu even less so.

"Can I really?" Suigetsu's eyes burned with a fierce desire, his gaze fixed on Kai.

"Of course!" Kai nodded, smiling. "However, once you choose, you might die!"

Death? The ninjas around them involuntarily gulped, swallowing hard. If it were them, they would have turned and run without hesitation.

"Kai, are these swords ownerless? What if those currently wielding them suddenly lose their weapons?"

Pakura interjected, a sudden thought striking her. She knew from her intelligence reports that Uchiha Kai had taken two members of the Seven Swordsmen when he defected from Konoha.

Summoning all seven swords at once seemed highly problematic.

"Uh!" Kai rubbed his nose sheepishly, looking at the seven swords. He'd completely forgotten about that.

"Ahem, they're monsters; they'll be fine. And it'll be quick. If anyone's to blame, it's Hozuki Mangetsu's fault," he said with a nervous chuckle.

Mei and the others twitched their faces. They were the unfortunate victims of circumstance.

"I've chosen," Suigetsu's voice cut through the air.

The next moment, a chilling sound ripped through the silence. The Kubikiribōchō, its blade gleaming, slashed towards Kai's neck with the speed of lightning.

"Suigetsu, you're despicable!" Pakura exclaimed, her face paling. She hadn't expected Suigetsu to attack while they were talking.

"Despicable? For assassins, achieving the objective justifies any means," Suigetsu sneered, a cruel smile twisting his lips.

He felt a surge of feverish excitement as he gripped the familiar weight of the Kubikiribōchō.

"I admire your ruthlessness. To show my respect, I'll only use taijutsu. Try to survive," Kai said, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

Kai's chakra exploded like a torrent. Purple lightning surged, and a sonic boom ripped through the air as he vanished from his spot, leaving Suigetsu's attack to miss its mark.

But Suigetsu, the one who dared to attempt assassinating the Mizukage and escape unscathed in the original timeline, was quick to react.

Despite his unfamiliarity with the Kubikiribōchō, his innate skill allowed him to instantly recover his attack, stopping its downward trajectory.

"Careful, he's above you," Mei shouted urgently, her voice sharp and tense, warning Suigetsu.

Suigetsu looked up to see a figure, wreathed in lightning, descending like a battle-axe.

"Taijutsu: Lightning Release: Righteous Axe Thunderclap!"

Boom!

Thunder roared as the attack descended with immense force. The overwhelming power bore down on Suigetsu. He raised his Kubikiribōchō to defend.

Bang! A deafening clash shook the air.

The immense force of the attack shattered the ground beneath Suigetsu's feet. A sickening cracking sound followed, revealing the unbelievable truth.

The blade was broken!

Boom! Half the Kubikiribōchō flew away, as an overwhelming torrent of lightning engulfed Suigetsu.

The ground trembled violently, jagged fissures spreading outwards. Debris and dust flew, forcing the onlookers to retreat.

When the dust settled, a massive crater gaped open in the ground. Suigetsu, covered in blood, lay curled up amidst the rubble, clutching half his broken sword.

"Sigh, so boring. You need to try harder," Kai sighed, retrieving the broken half of the Kubikiribōchō from Suigetsu's grasp.

With a flick of his wrist and a hand seal, the Seven Ninja Swords were instantly returned to their realm.

"The fight was over in an instant," Mei said, her lips slightly dry. She'd been feeling sympathy for Hozuki Mangetsu's fate, completely missing the true implication of Kai's words.

Even Suigetsu, the Second Coming of the Demon of Kirigakure, couldn't withstand a single blow.

Just how strong was this youth?

The Third Hokage's recent warning echoed in her mind: Absolutely do not provoke Uchiha Kai.

"Take him back. If he survives, he can find me. I rather like his audacity," Kai said, casually kicking Suigetsu towards the Anbu.

Suigetsu's 1.8-meter frame flew like a sandbag, the sudden action leaving the Anbu scrambling. The sound of cracking bones sent shivers down their spines.

However, they dared not show any hesitation in responding to Kai's "request."

They quickly caught the blood-soaked Suigetsu. "Weak pulse. The blow didn't hit vital organs, but there are extensive electrical burns," the Anbu reported, his face paling as he examined Suigetsu's injuries—broken ribs and internal damage. He was at least 90% dead.

"What? Can't save him?" Kai asked, his tone laced with a hint of annoyance.

In a flash, he appeared beside Suigetsu. The Anbu and Mei tensed, but their apprehension turned to astonishment as they saw Kai's medical ninjutsu, the Sage Art, glowing in his hands.

He possessed mastery of genjutsu, ninjutsu, taijutsu, and even the highly difficult medical ninjutsu.

Omnipotent was the only word for it.

Suigetsu, if he ever knew he'd been nearly killed and then saved, would probably feel even worse than death itself.
