Chapter 196 - MSOC: Chapter 196

The tense atmosphere in the damaged teahouse eased somewhat after the commotion.

"Kai, can you let them go? This is the Land of Rain…" Konan urged, her anxiety evident. In wartime, any conflict could spark a larger war.

Mei's presence was a significant risk. Any incident in the Land of Rain could provide Mizukage with a pretext for invasion, mirroring the Third Kazekage's disappearance.

While the Five Kage Summit, prompted by Kai's actions, aimed to end the Third Great Ninja War, weaker nations had little diplomatic power.

Mizukage might exploit this, causing unnecessary conflict. Given Akatsuki's involvement, Konan was particularly concerned about Mei's safety.

"Of course," Kai said with a gentle smile, relieving the Anbu's tension. They weren't afraid of death, but no one wanted to die needlessly.

"However, I need to confirm something," Kai said, turning to Suigetsu, making everyone tense.

Mei's expression hardened. "Uchiha Kai, Suigetsu is a Kirigakure rogue ninja. We'll handle him. Kirigakure will provide adequate compensation for the damage."

Mei sensed a connection between Kai and Konan. Suigetsu had killed two ninjas; Kai's pursuit was justified.

"I'm not interested in Kirigakure's compensation," Kai said, shaking his head. "Frankly, I don't care about the five great nations' actions."

"But, Suigetsu, you said you could kill me with the Kubikiribōchō, didn't you?"

"How about a game?"

Game? Everyone's faces changed. Without the terrifying genjutsu experience, they might have still had the courage to fight.

But after witnessing the near-apocalyptic scene, who would dare attack Kai? It would be suicide.

"What? Afraid?" Kai smiled, producing an ancient scroll. The water-like patterns instantly revealed its nature to the Anbu, Mei, and even Suigetsu: a Hozuki clan summoning scroll for the Seven Ninja Swords.

It could summon the swords regardless of their location, provided they weren't specially sealed.

In the original timeline, this scroll disappeared with Hozuki Mangetsu's death. The Hozuki clan was nearly extinct, leaving only Suigetsu, who was experimented on by Orochimaru.

"Uchiha Kai, this scroll requires a special Hozuki clan hand seal technique to summon the swords. An outsider like you can't use it," Mei said.

Seeing Kai and Pakura together, she knew he'd attacked Mangetsu and saved Pakura. Normally, she would have attacked, but she chose not to reveal this connection.

"No, this scroll contains the instructions. It might be difficult for others, but I have confidence in my abilities," Kai said, unfurling the scroll.

It contained seven complex hand seals, each with a sword's name. The end detailed the summoning technique, including chakra flow instructions.

"Kai, I'm not trying to discourage you, but the Fourth Mizukage tried to use this scroll and failed," Mei said.

Kai smiled. "You think I'll fail?"

Mei hesitated, then stubbornly nodded. "Yes. Your talent is exceptional, but you can't do this. The Fourth Mizukage is considered a genius in Kirigakure!"

"Really?" Kai smiled gently. A system voice echoed in his mind.

"Ding! Ninja Sword Summoning Technique detected. Host, activate One-Click Max Level?"

Kai's smile widened. "One-Click Max Level."

"Please wait, Host!"

"Congratulations, Host! Ninja Sword Summoning Technique One-Click Max Level successful!"

A surge of information flooded his mind. Looking at the scroll, he said, "There are many kinds of geniuses. I happen to be a prodigy. Let's try this."

"Suit yourself. I hope you don't fail," Mei said, but her eyes widened as Kai moved.

His hands blurred, a whirlwind of motion too fast to follow. He completed the hand seals flawlessly, as if he'd done it countless times.

Powerful spatial fluctuations emanated from the scroll, and seven lights appeared.

"Summoning Technique: Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist!"

Bang! White mist erupted, and seven swords materialized.

"He succeeded?!" Mei was stunned. She'd claimed even the Fourth Mizukage couldn't use the scroll, yet Kai had summoned all seven swords at once.

This was beyond impressive. To Mei, even a single failure would have been a consolation. But Kai, the Blood-Red Asura, had succeeded on his first attempt.

Mei could only think of his words: "There are many kinds of geniuses. I happen to be a prodigy."
