Kai's casual words hung in the air, heavy with ominous weight. Gazing at the ravaged Susanoo, they couldn't fathom the source of his confidence.
"Small matter?" Mei's expression hardened. "I'll show you the power of a Kirigakure genius!"
"Support me! I'll kill this arrogant fool here today!"
"Yes!" The three Kirigakure Anbu instantly agreed, a strange excitement in their voices.
The inability to break through absolute defense was despair; the corroded Susanoo represented their hope for victory.
Killing Uchiha Kai, the Blood-Red Asura, would make them legendary throughout the shinobi world.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
"Lightning Release and Earth Release!"
"Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!"
The three Anbu unleashed a powerful combined assault, a display of elite skill. While their Water Dragon Bullet Technique was less powerful than Mei's, the combined attack, enhanced by lightning and the waterfall, created a massive wave crashing towards the Susanoo.
Boom! The deafening roar was incessant. The wave engulfed the teahouse ruins. This attack, while dispersing the Molten Monster Technique, aimed to buy Mei time.
Mei, her face determined, formed hand seals, watching Kai remain unmoved. As a genius of her generation, she yearned to defeat the infamous Blood-Red Asura and rise to the top.
"Boil Release: Skilled Mist Technique!"
With a cry, Mei unleashed a torrent of superheated mist, a raging tide engulfing Kai. Trees and rocks melted before it—far faster than the previous technique.
Pakura's face paled. She saw Kai smiling—a serene, unsettling smile. As the mist engulfed the Susanoo, its rapid melting sent shivers down everyone's spines. This was the crucial moment, deciding whether Mei or Kai would win.
"Impressive. You're the first to breach my complete Susanoo's defense," Kai finally said, smiling. "So, you deserve to see my serious mode, my ultimate defense."
His Mangekyo Sharingan spun violently, unleashing a surge of crimson chakra, a beam of blood-red light piercing the clouds.
The rapidly melting Susanoo paused, then transformed. Its frame and armor regenerated, growing to a hundred meters tall, a three-headed, six-armed, monstrous Asura, a terrifying sight that shook everyone to their core.
Looking up at this godlike Susanoo, the three Anbu, Mei, Suigetsu, and Konan felt their faces burn. Their previous advantage had vanished. An invisible hand seemed to grip their hearts.
"Is this his true power?" Pakura gasped. She thought she'd seen his power in Kirigakure, but this was merely a glimpse.
Mei's boast of killing Kai had merely piqued his interest. To Pakura, he felt like a god.
A torrent of thoughts flooded Pakura's mind. She looked to the sky, her eyes widening in horror. She cried out,
"Run! Run for your lives!"
Her desperate cry sent shivers down everyone's spines. Looking up, they saw a colossal, world-ending shadow piercing the clouds, its immense pressure bearing down on them. Hair whipped about, bodies trembled uncontrollably. This was despair.
Mei's lips were dry; her hands trembled. She stared at the descending meteor, kilometers in diameter. Kai's words were the final blow.
"Enjoy this. The first Tengai Shinsei will be relatively easy. What will you do against the second?" Kai said, a playful tone in his voice.
His words echoed, sending shivers down everyone's spines. The thud of falling objects was deafening.
The Anbu, Akatsuki members, all fell to their knees. One meteor was despair; the knowledge that it was merely a prelude was utter annihilation.
Was this even human? This was a god!
Mei fell to her knees, staring at the descending meteor. Her genius felt insignificant. Hundreds of jutsu flashed through her mind, but they were useless against Kai's "serious mode."
Whoosh! A figure dashed forward—Konan, pale and sweating, but determined to reach Kai, the only one who could possibly break this deadly situation.
