Zane's POV~
"Just what the hell is wrong with him, Alfie? How could he faint just by following you to work?" Rhys snapped, anger thick in his voice. His eyes were blazing, arms crossed tightly against his chest. "Did you yell at him again? You know how fragile he is!"
I was already conscious by that point, but I kept my eyes tightly shut. I wasn't ready to face any of the Alphas....not yet. My thoughts were spinning, not with what they were saying, but with a deeper, gnawing fear. I kept wondering if Simon would come. I really hoped he wouldn't. My heart was already racing unnaturally fast, and he wasn't even here yet.
"Is he really that upset that we refused his food?" Cassian asked suddenly, worry creasing his brow. "That we didn't eat it....and even insulted him? Were we too hard on Boo Boo?"
"You actually threw the food away, Knox," he added, turning to his brother with a sharp edge in his voice. "Even if we weren't going to eat it, we didn't have to pour it out like that."
